Sit G and Vor..... Stop the madness with these two
- Flyers_1488

LOL.

No argument on sitting Jake, Hayes or JVR.
Minus production being a little below his standards Giroux is okay.

Question I have is if you sit any of those players are you going to join the list of people crying that "Stewart sucks"

Bobby Ryan is going to rehab?
- arichardson22

Not surprising from what I've heard about him over the years from someone close to his family. Guy likes to party.

I once got into an argument with someone because I told them I would take Mike Richards over Crosby because of his leadership. Crosby is a world class talent and one of the best in the game. No doubt. But when you watched Richards, you knew he was doing everything he could to win as well as get his teammates moving. He always laid the big hit or dropped the gloves to send a message to his team. Say what you will about Richards but I loved him as our captain. I appreciated what he brought to the ice. Off the ice, well...

I don't see that with G. Of course, there are different styles of leadership, but it's not working. All of the blame can't fall on G and he is still producing. But, at the end of the day, he is the captain. He is accountable. He needs to get the boys playing harder.

But, you don't sit/bench your captain.

I disagree completely with that. I'm not saying he is dogging it but his level of determination and will to win is significantly lacking. Giroux is a veteran who has been a quality player in this league for a long time. This is not about simplifying his game. It's about raising his level of play. Name one game for me where Giroux has been the best Flyers forward?
- MJL

The game against Edmonton I remember him being one of our best if not the best forward on our team, constantly driving play, but also this was when he was on the left wing. also, vs Carolina two weeks ago i thought he was our best forward. now I know thats only two games, but A it's just off the top of my head, and B he's not gonna be the best forward every game. I agree he needs to be better, but saying he needs to raise his game, isn't that as obvious as you can get? its all well and good to say he needs to score more, hustle more, etc etc, you don't think he's trying to do that? you can't be attempting to raise your game but still maybe overthink it or still grip the stick too tight? raising your game is easier said than done. Moving back to the left wing and simplifying your game and going back to the basics is a tactic players have used, and coaches have preached, for decades now.

Significantly lacking I also believe is over-exaggerating it. look no further than the wide open net he missed last night. thats a routine play for G, and he missed wide. he's putting himself in good positions, he still has positive advanced stats, he's just pressing. I think the 3 (JVR, Jake, G) are all pressing, and i think its pretty evident.

As good as he is this is still the NHL, guys will go through trying times. Scratching Voracek would further alienate him and probably ruin his relationship with AV which is probably not great as it is.
- ClaudeFather

If this Alienates him, he shouldnt BE a leader. Big contract players are scratched all the time. Ryan was scratched earlier this year prior to the news about his substance abuse issues, Kovalchuk is scratched now. Even Seguin has been scratched,

One thing i'll say is that I don't like the idea of putting three struggling players on the same line. I know AV doesn't want to shake up Coot's like but might have to look at putting them on the line just to see if they can snap out.
- Hextall271

i share the same opinion. ive never seen a line with so much talent do absolutely nothing, Pitlick and Raffl were doing more than they were, its baffling to me. breaking up that line is the only logical solution. I think something like this would work:

G-Frost-Jake (see if G and Jake can recapture something they had in the mid 2010's)
Lindblom-Coots-Farabee (no caption necessary....)
JVR-Hayes-TK (here I'd see if TK can introduce a little speed and touch to this line)
Raffl-Laughton-Pitlick (that's a solid 4th line if I do say so myself)

whens the last time Seguin was healthy scratched bro?

Also, Ryan and Kovalchuk were performing like minor league players, Jake still puts up points and brings something to a team, far from a good example or reason to sit Jake. You cannot sit Jake.

I stopped reading after " I would take Mike Richards over Crosby"

I have seen some ludicrous things on Flyersbuzz but this might be near the top.

There are a lot of players who currently deserve to sit, unfortunately there isn't enough players on a roster. I often thought why a coach has never pulled a Norman Dale from Hoosiers, and made a player a healthy scratch and played with a short lineup. I think for one game it would really send a message. Letting a player know he hasn't earned the right to wear a sweater for that game, and because of it his teammates are now playing shorthanded. It might serve a purpose and light a fire under their collective asses.

It was couple years ago in Dallas. Jake is not putting up points. Bill pointed out that all his points came from like 3-4 games

who else? he's the GM. I think they now know what they have. It's Fletches team (good or bad) to continue to mold it his way.

See Wild, Minnesota

That’s where this team is headed

Sit Voracek and play with 17 skaters.
Stewart is only on the roster because Fletcher is the GM, which is an embarrassment.

Chris Stewart has been pretty bad, but I'm not at the point where I'd say he's worse than an empty spot on the bench, lol

I think it would send a message. Stewart has zero business being on an NHL roster.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. How many times do we have to go through the same bull poop before we try something different. Jakes been moved down the line up how many times now with NO CHANGE. Sitting him is not going to cost us a game and even if it did id rather lose 1 game than lose another 4 with Jake "the no show" Voracek nowhere to be found
