Weird how players get points sometimes when they play bad and don't when they play good
People flip flop over Kap and Johnsson. - Santo_44
It's all luck anyway.

If VAN comes at you with Stetcher for Barrie do you do it?
Stetcher will cost around 4 million on his next deal...keep that in mind. - Santo_44
does Stetcher play in the top-4 on a good team? (rhetorical question)
is Stetcher "thick" and does he have a long stick?
.... hint Stetcher is not what the Leafs need to add. |

understood... but the 4th line center - ON THIS TEAM - shouldn't be seeing more than 6-8 minutes a night - except if killing penalties...
the "place" they need that abrasiveness is on the wing beside Matthews and Kerfoot...
they don't have any of that right now.
if they keep promoting the Petan's and Timashov's of the world (and don't get me wrong I like Timashov)... you'll never see a homegrown talent fill that role.
I believe the only way to inject that kind of attitude into the lineup is via trade...
for Josh Anderson type - who can fit in your top-6 and at the same time not be a liability. - BorjeFan4Ever
If Josh is so good and what the leafs need, why would cbus move him? |

two sides of that coin though.
True, he's not the issue and has played well so far this season.
But.
As a result of this and fact that he is not part of the problem that faces the leafs, he could be in demand...get a decent return.
Imo, too early to move him out yet. - Fakepartofme
Out of the core group signed past this season who is the most likely to not be a Leaf?
To me its Kap....easily. If I were a betting man I'd bet on it. |

Ya, a shake up for the sake of doing a "shake up" move is a failure if youre moving out a guy on a decent contract who hasnt been an issue.
Unless the return is great....but the leafs have no cap space to take on a "great" return.
The issue with moving Barrie is his cap hit is so low, the leafs could only take back a dman with a similar cap. Not sure you find the kind of quality the leafs need in a dman at 2.75m
Kap and barrie for a dman? moving out 5.95m....could get a good dman:
Dumba
Schmidt
Parayko
slavin
theodore
Jones
hamitlon
Does that improve the team?
does it fix the laziness and lack of consistent effort? - Fakepartofme
if you could somehow pry Parayko out of St.Louis you do it... and hopefully do it with a contract like Nylander's going the other way. Jones obviously same type of thing.
plus Dubas has "proven" he's a master of managing the CAP / contracts...what could go wrong? |

you didn't answer me yesterday.
Would you trade Heinen and Debrusk to the Leafs in order to get Nylander and Johnsson on the Bruins? - MaximusAurelius
Sorry - I don't read every post to ensure I don't miss one directed at me.
I'm thinking about it, which means it's close. The numbers obviously lean in the Nylander side of the trade, but I do like DeBrusk and Heinen ALOT. |

He would have been awesome next to Jimmy Vesey, who's totally going to Boston, done deal. - Scabeh
If there's one troll I wish would venture back into these parts around now, it'd be him. That guy (yeah I did that on purpose ) had a short lived HB posting career, but sure did wonders with it. |

so, with that said which 1-2-3 players represent the biggest personifications of what is wrong with the team? |

He's a very good example that you don't need alot of time to become legendary. I'll never forget him and the laughs.

Maybe.
Depends on results.
If kap and AJ combine to produce the same or more (80 plus pts last year) than willie . And willie continues to score 60 pts or more, in theory willie should bring back a higher return.
Maybe you move him.
Save money on dollar per pt and get a better return. |

this stuff is easy - senstroll While we're at it we'll throw in David Backes to the Flames and take back Elias Lindholm, witch Lucic to the Leafs as part of the 3-way deal.
We'll balance it out with picks of course. A 3rd outta do it
Easy peasy |

Alive and not so well. I purchased and authentic Hossa jockstrap on Ebay and had it shipped to 100 Legends Way. I got into a fierce bidding war with one B.Treliving. Guy was really busting my balls. I'm currently awaiting my nomination for 7th player award. |

Well we are sure happy Jimmy dodged that bullet. So far Barrie looks to have taken 4@4 OFF whatever contract he may get.
Terrible trade. Even worse player usage. |
