Ryan is 2 years older with 13 seasons under his belt. JVR is 2 years younger with 11 seasons under his belt.

its pretty close. Ryan's play really has tailed off the last 4 seasons. He was never a great skater so that could have something to do with it. I can say this much, given the choice between the two right now, i am taking JVR but as you said he is 2 years younger

Well, a couple things, my goal posts are obviously in a different location than your when it comes to the term "miss", as you put it. You said "several misses as well", which is a slight, to me, against Ron Hextall and pretty much every GM in the league in terms of drafting.

Secondly, the reality is, that's just the norm in drafting, nothing unique to Ron Hextall at all. No one produces seven players a year with seven picks, that's just dreamland. Every GM, except two, missed in the second round of 2016, as per your definition, so to me that's just normality.

Now if there was a kid like Patrice Bergeron two or three picks behind Laberge, ok, clearly he 'missed' on his pick, but that wasn't the case.

Prospect update. No one shooting lights out anywhere in our system season to date. Top prospects including Brink, OBrien? and York performing fine but not exceptionally. Cole Caufield on the other hand has 9 goals in 10 games for Wisconsin. Lets hope our York plus Brink strategy over Cole doesn't embarrass the team. I am beginning to think everyone who passed on him will regret it.

I wouldn’t label him a bust yet and isn’t as a hockey player imo. Injuries are a different story. People make it seem like he is a yakupov.

And going from a cup contender to Ottawa does great things for motivation. Ottawa has been a train wreck for years. All the good players as soon as they get a chance have left recently. Why is that.
