Been here a while... this team is just not right. I think johnny and monny are a big part of the problem

Peters won’t try a new line for more than a game or two but he refuses to break up the top line !! I don’t think it’s as much the players as we think it’s lookimg to me more like the coach like I said Carolina hasn’t looked back since he gone

I would put the best players on the top line & that would be Lindholm centring Gaudreau & Tkachuk.
Then shift Monahan down with Mangi & Bennett if healthy or even Ryan.
Move Backlund down with Frolik & Lucic. & Janko/Ryan with Rinaldo & Dube.

I will never bail on the Flames and proof of that is in the check I write the club every year for my seasons tickets.
That said, I don't wear rose colored glasses when it comes to anything in life.
Were it not for some spectacular goal-tending we have had this team would be within a few points of the cellar.
This team will be in the draft lottery in April and you can hold me to that Flamin Irishmin.

It's not just a player thing, though, it's a personality thing.

When Brind'amour first took over as head coach from Peters (After being the assistant to him for all four seasons, he talked about two things that he said hadn't been happening:

1) Having a relationship with the players. Not holding their hands, but just making sure that everything is communicated clearly and that they don't have to be afraid to make mistakes. You aren't gonna get benched for being a little too aggressive and taking an offensive zone penalty.

2) Hold guys accountable for a lack of effort. If you're busting your ass, you're gonna play. If you're lazy on the backcheck or getting to the bench, you're gonna hear about it no matter who you are.

That didn't happen under Peters. I think he was a very smart systems guy, but he didn't do a very good job of managing the players as people. Of course, not in the room, so that part is clear speculation. I know Eddie Lack still holds a grudge.

I cant see ANY scenario where Kovy waives his NMC for Calgary, but he's the sniper this team needs. Send Looch and a prospect the other way.

Yes I agree. Trouble in paradise - I can't help thinking that Chucky's emergence is part of it. Mony seems to be handling it "like a man", but Johnny is not. He wants out. I understand this sounds like garbage speculation, but have any of you been on teams where your star players bicker/fight? I have - this looks like it to me. We will probably never know.

We can speculate till the cows come home but this team is other needs to start playing for each other or make some trades. JG is an amazing player but he is not the guy that puts the team on his back on the way to a championship.

I wish I had a union representing me that made it so I could sign a job with a set contract making sure I got paid without having to produce anything after said contract was signed.

If these guys could lose their job and their millions for poor play we would get to see a way better brand of hockey.

Who else is there, AHL kids??? Is what it is & we are going to have to get pulled out of this pithole with the top 6 we went into this year with. But we do lack top 6 & Dube will be but he isnt ready yet.

Yes 100%! Jonny who has been slightly better the last two games. But for a so called super star he disappears way to much..... he does the same sht over and over weak pass in the defensive zone, or gets through the neutral zone hits the blueline does a button hook then makes a dangerous pass sometimes gets through a lot of times it doesn’t. Or a D man scares him and he does a turnover. Then repeat.Monahan skates like he is 33~34 years old and in the tail end of his career. For a big guy sure doesn’t hit.
