Still think Lias is an overpayment for Jesse. Until proven otherwise, pool party is not a proven NHL player. When you can't score with the best player in the whole league feeding you, it's not a good look.
Besides, Yakupov who had more production, went for a song and can't find NHL work now. I'm being completely serious is saying I'd almost rather take a flyer on him than Jesse. At least as a winger, Yakupov has scored a few times. - 2sticks1puck
the thing is though, Jesse had a hip problem that has been corrected with surgery that was definitely effecting his play
and Edmonton loses every trade they make, it's a scientific fact |

because one person on this blog is negative about absolutely everything that means it turns the whole blog into a negativity (frank)fest
Brukie is a (frank)ing bumhole that's all - jimbo83
Call me what you want but you should go back to the game day post you guys make and then talk about all the negativity.
Facts are facts, the problem is you know Im right and you are wrong, so yet again, you call me names. |

No it is the harsh reality of life in the NHL. Ive listed a bunch of contracts signed by players between the ages of 26-29 and within 3 to 4 years of signing the contracts the players couldnt play up to expectations. If you were a betting man, would you bet he will get better as he gets older or will his lay decline as he gets older??
Most people dont understand what im saying about Panarin. There is no doubt about his talent and skill set. Of course if the Rangers were contending for a Cup, he is the guy most likely to push us over the top. Imagine having him in 2014!!!
If there wasnt a Cap it wouldnt matter either but there is so you dont know how his production will be for the cap hit his contract is.
I completely disagree about him not being a typical 28yo. No matter how you want to spin it. Yes he played his first NHL game at 24 but he played in the KHL for 7 years. Do you think he didnt skate or train in that 7 years period?? Na there isnt any wear and tear on his knees and joints. This isnt the NHL from the 80's or 90's where you were allowed to beat on a player and not get called. poop today you cant even fart and not get called for a penalty. No more clutching, grabbing and holding. One little tap on the hands and you are called. the game is more open as it is in the KHL, same amount of wear and tear. - Brukie
Again this is all your opinion, not reality. No other person on the planet seems to hate the Panarin signing other than you. His contract is over when he is 34. He isn't signed till he is 40. And the cap should increase in the coming years. He is a top 10 scorer in the league right now. There is no proof this player will be available on the market when you think they will be a cup contender. |

Mika has been out awhile. He aint coming back in game shape. Strome and Panarin are carrying the offense at slightly over a point per game pace. No way I break up Strome and Panarin - mdw7413
Strome and Panarin's chemistry still amuses me. Panarin plays like a center and Strome plays like a winger and yet it works somehow. |

Ok there is no arguing that.
It's possible that he's healthy now and he would fulfill his potential. I also know that hips in sports are sneaky bad injuries that have dead ended some of the greatest athletes ever. If Edmonton wants to give him away, fine. However, I'd let another team take that risk if they want real value for him.
Not only do you have to acquire him, you have to convince him to sign with you and to come back over here. Plus, we already have Buch, kakko, and hopefully Kravstov on our future right side. You'd have to say Krav's potential is about equal to Jesse's and we already own his rights. |

I am just not worried about Lias Andersson becoming great somewhere else, I really don't believe he has the goods |

There isnt any proof there wont be any player of his caliber on the market either. When you build something do you put the roof on first?? No you build from the ground up. |

Going on point production, Panarin is a stud |

While there's been talk of a Jesse Puljujarvi-Lias Andersson possible Edm/NYR trade scenario, the scouting book on the Swedish first-rounder Andersson is he's a bottom six NHLer who doesn't have a lot of pace to his game

Kind of states what we all knew. But if Puljujarvi isn’t coming back, Edmonton has nothing to show for him, reducing the return they should expect to receive. |

I do believe if he became a Ranger, he'd change his mind about coming back |

I dont know why they are beating on Howden also. 6"3' 21yo and a center. Hopefully he can be a solid 3rd line player. This team is in a flux. CK 20 will most likely will be gone, Staal, Smith, Fast and Hank will be gone within 2 years. Huge roster turnover. It will take time for players to adapt and gel again. - Brukie
Hating, no, recognize that he shouldn’t automatically be given a pass and third line placement, yes. If Quinn etc are critical of others, then Howden deserves the same exact treatment. |

Panarin at this stage of his career and at this point in the Rangers rebuild is more of the roof than a building block. The building blocks are players like Chytil, Howden, Igor, Fox, Kakko, Deangelo, etc. |

Agreed but as we have seen Quinn treats all players different. How long did it take for him to finally sit Staal?? Skjei IMO deserves to be scratched more often than not. What are they doing with Anderson?? Why not give him more of a chance?? I dont get it. |

Panarin is signed for 7 more years and has more skill than all of them. Who cares how much older he is if he will be here and be a main piece the entire time.
Did you consider Hank a roof when he was 31 or 32? |

As I have said about 1000xs before, hopefully he will be at the same level he is playing at now when we will be contending!! |

So why not get excited then now and see what happens? I just don't get trashing the move when he looks great so far. |
