The internet has ruined the phrase "laughable."

You might be interested to learn than a synonym for "I think" is "This is my hypothesis"

also,

here is proof that I am right. *(That you will just ignore).

James, if you're going to patronize someone for their approach to scientific observation then you probably shouldn't throw around words like "proof". It's called evidence

Enjoy it while it lasts, the Leafs are off to a bad start, the Islanders are off to a great start, but whose roster would you rather have? It's early.

Whoaaaaa. Are you not at least going to dabble just a little into FACT.

Since Johnny Tavarez left NYI to join Toronto....
1. NYI had MORE regular season point than the Leafs last year a FULL 82 games.
2. NYI did better in playoffs than Leafs
3. NYI wayyyyyy better through 20 games than Leafs this year.

Where, is there ANY proof or indication that the Leafs are as good as, let alone BETTER than the Isles.

He admits that then he’ll have to admit the Islanders have a better coach which is having an impact on their success. That will just be another thing he is wrong about. He has painted himself in a corner once again with his ignorance.

Tanner is the pure example of what is WRONG with analytics. Analytics are a useful tool, but they need to be used in conjunction with watching hockey, looking at intangibles, like leadership, grit, will-to-win, teamwork, backchecking, standing up for teammates, ets, etc, etc. Simply collecting 5-6 odffensive players who float, put up nice scoring numbers, don't check, don't win board battles, don't play as a unit does NOT make you a better team. For years nashville put together a solid system, with no stars, just great team work, and Trotz defense...and were very competative. NYI much the same. A collection of good part outweighs a buch of more talented individual parts. A TEAM needs a collection of skill, grit, fight, size, speed and blend them together.
Tanner will never budge, cuz he is a closed minded elitest who thinks his thoughts are the ONLY right thoughts. It ceases to be a debate, but rather a stubborn holding on to falsities.
Fact. Kuemper is GOOD. Elite?...jury out too little time, but a damn fine goalie in a GOOD defensive system with good coaching.
Fact. Leafs have an abundance of SKILL, but no grit, no teamwork, just a collection of analytic darlings.

Anyway, many of us said when Dubas was maxing out on paying Nylander, Matthews, Marner....that he would not be able to amass any of the good "Grit" players the team sorely needs. In fact...they let the one guy with some passion, desire and grit go by trading kadri. Yes...stupid suspension and the worse possible time. But, his type the Leafs need big-time.

Just incredibly short-sighted some of these numbers guys are that don't actually watch many games. I watch portions of 3-4 different games a night. I see the Leafs 2-3 times a week. Their short-coming are no mystery to me. They should be better than this...yes. A 100 point regular season team would be expected. But, built to win a Cup....4-5 players away....

I heard somewhere that Matthews was seen wearing a red MAGA hat though.... Now which roster would you rather have Jimmy?

if you look at just the top 4-5 players, obviously the leafs......but once you get past that, it's not even close. the isles are a much better constructed TEAM, top to bottom......better coach, better system, better farm system, better depth, better cap management, etc, etc, etc

the leafs, and dubas in particular, blew his entire load on 4 guys, assuming that would be enough to overcome the absolute garbage he filled the rest of the roster with............clearly it isn't

moving forward, if you look at the entire roster and farm system, I'd take the Isles EVERY time.

Tsk, tsk tsk....you poor boy. Obviously new here.

If you go back several months you will find another "Jimmy Gem", where he will tell you that after the Top 3-4 players on any team, the remaining 17 or so are interchangable. No real difference in the bottom 17 on ANY team. So, the Leafs garbage is only equal to the 3rd and 4th lines of the Caps, Blues, Lightning, Bruins or any other team. Those players don't really matter.
Now, with the Blues lack of individual star power compared to Pens, Lightning, Leafs, Avs etc...I don't know how Jimmy would justify their Cip.

But, I will go out on a Limb and say...it's not depth...not system, not coaching....it it just Blues had a good goalie and a lot of luck. Yup, that's it. Blues are lucky. I am surprised they are even in the playoff hunt after Tarasenko went down. No stars there now...but yet...they keep winning. Some lucky they are!!!

oh, I'm not new.......I know that if there's one thing Tanner does REALLY REALLY well, it's routinely show that he has NO IDEA what the hell he's talking about 98% of the time.

I also know that he does it for hits..........and if the 0.003$ he gets for every comment are with his dignity, than more power to him

I don't do anything for hits, and people are never going to like it when someone challenges the assumptions that are accepted on masse. I am extremely comfortable being hated on by lonely, uneducated, maga guys who have nothing better to do with their time.

I have 2 undergrads, a masters, and am an avid liberal supporter (although not a fan on Trudeau)...............and you make your living spewing garbage on a website. but by all means, project your inadequacies on others when they call you out on your garbage opinions about hockey.

Hey there's bound to be a few people defying the demographics, but I still don't care what you have to say because you're rude and disrespectful.

Yet, we are supposed to care what you say because you are as well?
I'm confused.
From what I hear, you whine to the Mods that the commenters are being mean to you, but you sling as many insults and accusations as anyone else on here.
Which way it is supposed to be, Jimmy?

Says the guy who just insulted an entire political demographic while also grouping anyone who disagrees with you in said demographic. I think you’re about as a short sighted, intolerant person, that I’ve run into on this site. I’ll also add that I think it’s pretty disgusting that you group people as a whole and insult them. Supposed tolerance when it suits you evidently.

In fact Eklund has stated that none of his bloggers talk politics which is obviously absolute nonsense with this just being one of many examples. Anytime you want to compare degrees, levels of loneliness or intelligence feel free to PM me.

Part of the Tanner M.O. Appeal to authority. Only problem is that you routinely get wrong what is accepted en masse.

There's the obligatory political insult!
