You know as well as I do you don't build through free agency.
- Powerslave

They wont need to. Just let Vesey, Sheary, Bogo, Scandella, Girgensons, Larsson, Sobotka, Hunwick and Nelson walk. Make 2 trades for forwards, get the kids in here, and presto chango, team is better.

He could have done most of this before the season, but he chose not to.

NJ needs defense and we could use a Taylor Hall. Just make it happen already. Who gives a poop if he’s not signed. We are bending Montour, a damn good puck moving defenseman and one of the only guys with some grit because we have way to many (frank)in defensemen and we have to force a winger into a 2c position, call up Lazar to replace our 2lw who should also be in the AHL

Maybe botts needs his 1st draft to mature a bit more?
Casey is still developing
The rest of the draft cant be expected to make a difference yet?

None of those guys listed above would have brought any trade value. Most free agents.

Who's signing here again?

It's not a rebuild. It's flushing the crap down the toilet. JB is sitting here admiring his turds in the bowl

why should he be given a 4th year if we have 75 points at the end of the season

I'd love to hear logic to keep him

- homiedclown

I'm not giving any logic to keep him.

But there's a certain amount of "wheel spinning" every time you start over

I would almost 97.5% not trade Dahlin, but could he get you a couple Hi end forwards that could help you, are defense could survive without him. There is nobody on this team that could probably pull in a trade what he could. But maybe not either he really hasn't looked that good.

The problem with this is that how many teams have enough high end forwards they would be willing to part with to make it worth it?

Of the UFAs I mentioned, are there any you would keep, regardless of who is GM, and regardless of how the season ends?

I agree with this. Turning the GM is 2 years of wheel spinning. Botts is a smart GM but poop isn’t working so fix it Botts. He knew the job he was taking. He knew we (fans) and the Pegulas would not sit idol this year and be happy with 80 points and another 7th over all pick. Make something happen and do it before the farkin deadline

No, but the moves need to be made now not in the summer. We use this year to build chemistry, squeak into the playoffs, and next year to have a real run

He has drafted better, I think than Murray. Obviously we won't know for a few more years. The eye test says he has thus far.

Big knock is bringing back and bringing in turd players like Vesey, Lazar, Girgs, Lockport Larry, and having a steadfast policy of not dumping bad contracts. Ex: Okposo. That's one and probably the worst. The others I believe we're out of after this season?

Also not enough trades/manuevers to bring in top end talent.

Obviously I don't know what teams want for a Taylor Hall type player. I know it may be alot, but it's time to take another risk and trade futures for a Top 6 guy.

Yeah, he brought em in or extended them. There's not a single one of his UFAs I would keep

With so many expiring contracts, next year’s team is gonna look a lot different. That team will also need a year to develop and create chemistry.

No

Botts is 17 games into a new coach, that he chose

He changed joker, montour, miller, vesey and Johansson.

How is that watching a floater?

I appreciate botts patience.

i agree. We have assets and need scoring in a bad way. Hall fits the bill.

I'd do that trade 2 minutes ago. Don't think it would be enough though.
