I know this isnt the platform for an ethical debate, but is it racism to say "you people" when it's unclear which race he is talking about?? Over the years he's attacked Russians, Swedes and French. Seems more xenophobic to me. Anyone crying racism is just lazy, get your outrage right.

I mean the full quote was pretty obvious that he was referring to non-white immigrants in Canada. It doesn't really have to be direct at one particular race to be racist.

I went searching for what Cherry said and thought it would be ridiculous. Instead I get this....

Not only should they have not fired him, he should have taken it a step further. Our veterans sacrificed a lot in order for us to live in this great country. A poppy is bought with a donation, it’s not like it cost a lot of $.

I don't see where in there it denotes non-white immigrants. My family came here from Sweden and has never been big on the poppy thing; I'm sure this rant applies equally to them as it does a Hungarian, Russian, Greek, Spanish, Brazilian, Chinese or Syrian.

Unless there's some hidden meaning to "milk and honey" I'm not aware of, nothing about that singles out non-white immigrants.

Again, though, I'm not exactly chaffed that he's gone.

I won't pretend to know the ethnic make-up of immigrants that Canada sees coming in there, but I'm willing to be that the overwhelming majority of them are non-white. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

I'm not big on the overly-PC cancel culture myself, but let's not pretend that the term "you people" isn't used almost entirely used as something that prefaces an improper, and usually bigoted, statement.

Maybe it wasn't the worst thing he's ever said, but I think there's been enough history of Don generally being an xenophobic dippoop that this was the straw that finally broke the camels back. Anyone pretending this is the one and only thing that contributed to his termination is not paying attention.

No no no, the maple farmers ride out on moose-back in pursuit of wild maple trees to wrangle. When caught, the maple tree is coaxed into exposing it's hidden maple udder using various ancient techniques. Once the udder is exposed, they milk the maple trees much like you would a cow and then release the maple tree back into the wild where it gallops off to rejoin it's herd.
