True - always about the money in a politically pure world.

Don Cherry

Yes, he is 85.
Yes, he used the wrong words.
Yes, his heart is in the right place.
Yes, he was fired.

But every Canadian regardless of where they came from should do something simple on November 11th - wear a poopy & be proud to do so

It's 1 day out of 365- not a lot to ask?

- Colbyboy

I hear you, but he makes it sound like it's only immigrants not being supportive. You people, you want to get the sponsors calling the network that's the phrase that pays.

And what would you say if after 17 games, David Kampf has just as many goals as Toews has?
- LAHawk

It's disappointing for sure. It's too bad, i have no proof of this, but it's my belief, eye test every year, whatever training he does in the off season does not prepare him for the hockey season. People say slow starter i say doesn't have hockey legs until November. He finally looks like he can skate for 60 minutes, around game 12-13 i saw our #1 center. Everything you do in sports is tied to your legs

Dots, I have to say you are spot on also. Money drives a lot of the stuff. Sad but true.

Honestly it's much easier to say it to a camera lens then it is to an actual person or a group of people, love to see Cherry say that in a room with a bunch of immigrants.

He would

In 2010, Cherry wore a pink suit to attend Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s inauguration when the battle over bike lanes pitted left against right. Cherry began by saying. “I’m wearing pinko for all the pinkos out there that ride bicycles and everything.” He praised the new mayor’s honesty and truthfulness, predicted that Ford would be the best leader in the city’s history and concluded with the words: “Put that in your pipe you left-wing kooks.”

Ever since his benching, Keith has been PP1, Gustaffson and Bovquist have been PP2, with Toews, Nylander and Dach up front.
- LAHawk

He lost his spot on the first pp unit because of his poor offensive play. He can get back on it with strong offensive play.

Unfortunately we live in a world where "freedom of speech" is hindered by violence. He probably would say it to them if he had a couple of armed guards.

I wish Dach was playing with other skilled forwards. That feed he gave Drake on the 2 on 1 breakaway looked perfect. But the finish wasn’t there. Kinda feels like his talents are being wasted 5v5.

Wouldn’t mind putting him with Toews and Nylander and reuniting Saad with Kampf and Kubalik.

The Coyotes have such ridiculous speed. Gotta be one of the top 2 or 3 fastest teams in the NHL. They are skating circles around the Capitals, making them look downright slow.

You are freaking 100% spot on! Because all of those servicemen were “over there “it gave all of us the right “to go about our business and do what we want over here”. ,
I am very disappointed at what happened to Don Cherry.I support him 100% also. I do not think he was Trying to be disrespectful, just like those that want to grill Joe Biden about showing his age and talking about things like the “record player “. Everybody is so goddamn sensitive today.Same with what happened in Philadelphia when they took down Kate Smith’s statue. If Mr. Snyder was alive today he would’ve never allowed it. And that’s all I Gotta say politically. Over and out!

Regula is having a nice season in London to date.

15 points (7 G, 8 A) in 14 games, +15.

He's another dman to add to the organization. I would expect him to play in Rockford next year.

The Hawks will have some decisions to make on the defensive prospects over the next year.

- Tyler Cameron

I guess I don’t know enough about him to get uber excited but his stats and big frame scream diamond in the rough. I’m stoked to see how tge rest of his season goes and watch him grow as a prospect.

I liked the Saad/Toews/Nylander line myself. Let Dach center Shaw & Kubalik.

Since line 1 is where offense generally goes to die lately, I'd be all for trying that.

I was thinking maybe putting the Drake up with Toews and Saad and putting Nylander with Dach and Shaw, but I like your suggestion too.

Isn't their team just made up of OEL, Kessel and ex Blackhawks?

Pretty much

Add in Panik and Kempny on the Capitals and it feels like almost half of our 2016/17 roster is on the ice tonight. Although Hammer is currently injured and not playing. Still got Raanta, Oesterle, Schmaltz, and Hinnostroza though.

Those who fought and died for a better Canada fought to allow us freedom of speech, freedom of expression but more Importantly they fought for the oppressed who were unable to fight the majority. Cherry's words were "You people love … you people that come here, whatever it is, you love our way of life, you love our milk and honey,” “At least you could pay a couple of bucks for a poppy or something like that.

His tirade was directed at a specific group, it was directed at immigrants. Cherry deserved to get fired.

Paul you are going to miss the grammatical mastery of the English language and his pronunciation of multi syllabic words and names. His spot was so educational for the hockey fan.

In reality, his gig should have ended 5 years or so ago. He had become a rambling incoherent who really contributed nothing in the way of hockey info. About as deep as he got was to show replays of defenceman screening a goaltender or deflecting pucks that caused goals.

And Ron Maclean should have interrupted the last stupid rant.

There prime minister can were black face and nothing happens. Don Cherry didn’t really say anything that bad. I know he is past his time but people are so ready to jump on anything. Grow up People.

There, their, they’re.
Where, wear, were.

Maybe don’t post if you don’t have a rudimentary grasp of the language.

If Cherry is fired by SportsNet, why did the president of that network apologize for his comments? An apology sounds like he is in agreement with Cherry. He is sending mixed messages.
The sad thing is, he was speaking the truth. The truth is not right anymore. We live in a sad society.
