Not at all what Im am saying. The whole premise that you dont care if you dont buy a poppy is stupid but the fact is Don Cherry called out Immigrants.
“You people love, that come here, whatever it is, you love our way of life. You love our milk and honey. At least you can pay a couple of bucks for a poppy or something like that. These guys paid for your way life that you enjoy in Canada, these guys paid the biggest price.”
This is 100% ignorance.
1) Many immigrants do buy poppies
2) Immigrants home contries were involved in WWII
3) What about all the Canadian born citizens who dont buy poppies?
If he just directed the comment to everyone instead of just immigrants everything would have been fine. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
whew so then white people dont' have to pay for slavery since not all were involved and we're so far removed from it
I mean sure, do it with some tact though. You know your young player's family is coming to watch him play? Maybe don't scratch him for inferior players that game. Your young player's are playing well, reward them with more ice time. Hak literally said playing well was not a reason to increase ice time, explain the logic on that one pls.
I don't really care what Ranger's fans said about AV, you can clearly see that the whole coaching staff is letting the young guns make up for their mistakes. - HeeroYuy
A coach should never take outside influences such as that into consideration when making lineup choices. This is not high school sports or little league.
Please provide a direct link to that quote and I'll be glad to comment on it.
Hakstol did the same thing with young players It was a process with Hakstol just like it is with any coach. Young players were coached on their mistakes. If it continued over a period of time, ice time was reduced. If it continued further, then some players were sat out. Others depending on the level of their play were not.
Sportsnet had a big cut back this summer.
I was surprised a bit Cherry survived that.
I wonder if they were looking for a reason to can him anyway.
All this PC stuff, culture wars, generation war (ok boomer), etc are just purposeful distraction anyway.

Good point about sports net. They got rid of anyone making money as they were losing their shirt with no one going to see the Jays. Also, all sports net does is cater to leafs fans. Every sat game is the leafs. F them.

Lol at Cherry. Bigger lol with those taking issue with his firing.
All politics aside you can't be the face of a brand and go out and talk poop on people solely based on their origins and expect anything good to come of it. Cherry dug his own grave here.

Cherry should've stuck to talking hockey and he wouldn't have been fired. Which coincidentally is the same thing we should do here.

Yea, last time I checked. North America was based on immigration

why don't you every take your own advice? - 2Real
If a canadian of color came out and accused white canadians of not buying poppies, you would lose your mind
If you can find me proof that immigrants buy poppies less often than natural born canadians, then maybe we will buy your argument that cherry was telling the truth
Do you folks that use nhl center ice know how to get the games in high definition? It’s awful watching in standard when HD should be available.
Thanks in advance - Marc D
the feeds on directv are always in HD, i have no issues plus you get the nhl.tv streaming feeds for free as part of the package. sorry if i'm late with the comment
