I think Rangers would need to add a 3rd or at least a 4th with Lias for Puljujarvi. As mentioned by others, there’s just no room for both Lias and Howden. Howden a little bigger and better on face-offs. Neither projects as more than a 3rd liner. That leaves one of them as a highly drafted 4th liner. Puljujarvi’s ceiling probably at least top 9. Right now would be a much better option on 2nd power play unit than Lemieux.

FWIW, although his record/numbers suggest otherwise, this is massively unfair to Hutchinson. TOR backup goalie faces a massively high bar because the backup always gets the second game of back-to-backs and goaltending aside, TOR skaters are lousy in back to backs.

He's obviously a great offensive talent, but he's just another redundant element that they already have in spades. All-offense, no defense. Leafs would've been better off trading for Calvin de Haan than they were Barrie. They need some stability on that blueline.

What has Puljujarvi done in the NHL? Major questions have to exist on what he will become, so as much as the talent is there, you have to be concerned that it won't be displayed on the ice.

Another obstacle involving Puljujarvi is his contract status. He is UNSIGNED. Can you imagine a team ( any team, not just Rangers ) trading for him and then he refuses to sign an RFA contract? I don't see how Oilers can be too demanding in their trade offers...
