Steve Jobs was a Boomer.

- aminnes

I know... so am I. Steve Jobs "did stuff"... some of which sucked... so he changed stuff.

The key point - he did stuff. Then changed.

racism is not a generational issue.

looking only at the US... who are most of the Skinheads and NeoNazi's you see on TV? are they 50+ year olds... or are they 20-30?

what do think the drug gangs are filled with... young guys, white, black brown... whatever... follow the intellectual area where's the most anger and frustration... usually young men... accompanies the greatest degree of stupidity and immaturity.

hint: it ain't old guys.

changing from an iPhone 6 to iPhone X ... isn't changing

changing from playstation to XBox ... isn't changing

changing from a car that doesn't have a back-up-camera to one that does - isn't changing.

changing from non-shaped skis to shaped skis - is a good thing - but it ain't changing.

I get it... recycling... we've changed, cause we separate paper and plastic now.

moving out of your parents home or "off their payroll" is changing... moving back in again isn't changing.

change implies that you know that something you did or are doing could be replaced/altered to be done differently.... which means you actually have to have done something previously...

what have the millenials changed? and won't even bother asking about the GenXYZs...

I can't want (insert sarcasm detector here) for this one

Ok boomer

- BorjeFan4Ever

To me this just shows me that you are angry that Millenials have more freedom in some things that you haven't maybe had at that age. Which is a pet peeve of mine, every generation has crap they have or have had to go through.

Change? Social change?

Millenials are smakc dab in the middle of it. 50 years ago most people didn't even know what was going on in the next town.

These days we are involved in everything that goes on in the world.

In the last 20 years Canada has gone through massive amounts of change socially and GENERALLY there is a big difference in which how each generation has been able to cope with it.

I completely agree.

I just figured after all this time, the old man was pretty much immune because "the people love him".

It sorta is..

Folks 55+ grew up with a different philosophy.. fwiw I not putting the blame squarely on them, and all this racism stuff takes a back seat to climate change deniers..

You sell firewood for a living(cutting down trees, burning them, sending them out into the air in the form of smoke) so lets not pretend to be concerned about the environment. You were spouting about boomers being put in their place by the young lady from Sweden. Don’t you ever think about what business you’re in?

You guys are missing the point. Its not about wording or the opinion. It's about the platform.

Coaches corner is a segment for hockey fans and freaking kids. Leave the PC topics flat out of it. Half of us that are adults only stick around for these intermission shows because it's one of the few places on earth you're not going to be subjected to pissant political discussions anymore.

More hockey less immigrants please.

- joel878

I'm not missing the point here. Don stand up for the Armed forces, cops, fireman, etc .... yes he has a national exposure to many people young and old and even when he stick hockey topic, he can be polarizing.
That the way he is. We all have the opportunity to change channels when Don is on the air.

Even today this is a sensitive topic.

This is such a complicated and deep subject, but if you try and boil the ocean, you end up with . . . whether it's gang violence, gun violence, racism, hatred, etc. - it all stems from the same basic root: a large number of people are feeling disenfranchised (rightly or wrongly) and are looking for an easy solution or an easy target.

The answer isn't easy, so neither is the solution.

He said something you simply can't say these days.

SN does not want to be a platform for something like that.

It was an easy decision for them.

I'm not angry about it all... I think its hilarious - you sum it up yourself - "millenials are smack in the middle of it"...

no you aren't ... you are watching on the web/tv/screen on your fridge...

just 'cause you are watching it, and tweeting about it - doesn't mean you have any impact on it or anything at all.

precisely the reason you would be "lost for words" if you met Babcock face to face... you'd never take shots verbally at him directly that you fire without pause here...

that's why you fundamentally can't get your head around the idea intangibles in hockey players... they don't have intangibles in virtual reality and you can't measure them and record it in a spreadsheet.

its like tactile feeling when buying clothes ...some people prefer to feel something they are considering buying.... very difficult to do thru a wifi/cellular connection.

Cutting down the very thing that cleans the air naturally just so you can burn it and create more pollution and then proclaim to be an environmentalist. Priceless
