I was being sarcastic..

With Marner out at least 4 weeks, Babs may try some different things.. Assuming Hyman is back this week, but I think Babs is stubborn af and will roll with;

Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Hyman-Tavares-Moore
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Kapanen
Timashov-Gauthier-Shore/Spezza.

- PatC80

Yeah, I wouldn't expect signfiicant change. It's either that or:

Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Hyman-Tavares-Kapanen
Moore-Kerfoot-Mikheyev
Timashov-Gauthier-Shore/Spezza.

I think this might be his go-to initially because I think he'd prefer to have Kap on the right side and Moore on the left. He also seems hellbent in thinking Kapanen is a decent fit with Tavares. Mikheyev seems to have predominantly played on the right despite being left-handed.

hutch: 0-4-1, 4.44, 0.879
andersen: 9-2-3, 2.62, 0.916

they are about 2 games late in doing something.

Have to believe Dubas has realized by now that the Hutchinson experience hasn't worked out.
I agree, he needs to do something soon. We need goaltending help.

Could be.. I've liked what I've seen from the Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Kap line, but I wouldn't be against Babs trying something new... Even if, just for the sake of trying.

French and Santo almost died in the explosion.

Nice edit, but it doesn't make sense. I'm already dead.

nylander is a kessel type player.

fine as a 2nd fiddle, but can't win with him as your top player.

- Tumbleweed

I have no problem with a statement like that.

[player] is not an elite franchise player - nor is he paid like one. But he has the skills to be a game breaker - especially if you put talent around him so that he's not keyed on as "the guy".

[player] is someone I'd take on my team any day.

We've been over this.

Finding two streams of VHL games has really pushed my Yaroslav Askarov blog back.

I was very low on him before start of the season, but those stats are even worse than i projected.. (most on here had him between .905-.910 and under 3 goals GAA).

He is really a bad goalie - at least not an NHL goalie.
Which is a pity because he seems like a nice enough guy.

I hope by [player] you are not referring to Nylander.
He has a negative impact on this Leafs team imo.

Nylander sucks.
only scores in games Leafs lose vs low placed teams.
he's the new Phaneuf.

They came out flat, but they can't rely on Hutch.. To their credit, they finished strong and Matthews had a heck of a game. They have to do something soon.. They have more back to backs coming up..
- PatC80

I only watched the first period because I had ball hockey to go to but it sounds like Matthews and Bill Ny played some excellent hockey after I stopped watching.

Hopefully they keep that rolling.

Those are terrible numbers.. I agree that we should give Freddy some rest so that he can be fresh for the playoffs, but we need to get there first.. Hutch is not helping..

If no trade can be made, maybe give Kaskisuo a try?

*remembers when Moore could easily replace Nylander's offense*
- AdamFrench

Once the Leafs sign Jimmy Vesey they wont need Nylander and can flip him for a D

Nylander is tremendously skilled, he could use a little more courage, but i think you hate him because he's better looking and younger than Jagr.

Yeah.. Just too bad that they started playing great after the Hawks made it 3-0..

In all fairness, last night's loss was not because of Matthews and Nylander. Hutch let in some softies.

There's probably at least 150 FWs in this league I'd take over Nylander on my team.
I don't like him because he's a lazy floater that plays a style of hockey I dislike very much.

Yeah? How so?

Is he still the best russian prospect for next draft?

I wanted to see him play pro instead of just Hlinka and U18's. VHL streams are (frank)ing insanely hard to get. He's a beast and it's between him and Rodion Amirov for best Russian prospect this year. Askarov is better, but goalies never get that respect. Amirov is a two-way monster from the wing. Getting Hossa comps and justly so.

I am not a Hutch fan, but I am not ready to excuse the team and blame him. Did you see that first period? That was brutal defending. The first goal was a lucky deflection and Hutch should have had it, but the others? They were flat and had to chase the game, a recipe for losses. You can't throw a stat like that out when Hutch has played all the back-to-backs. What are Freddy's stats career on the second of back-to-backs?

Where has that 3rd period team been all year? Babs plays Matthews more and he dominates. SHOCKING... lol

Okay, honestly, the first was soft, but it was also a deflection. The second and third? Did you see the way Toronto was defending on those? The 3rd goal was a series of passes on the PP with the last one across the net, that was soft on Hutch's part?

It was BRUTAL defense. Toronto defenders were backing WAY in letting Chicago skate right in. You let Kane skate in with the puck like that and you will get burned...
