He’s just having a senior moment.

Change is always bad.

If it’s not like it was in 1990 it’s wrong. Always.

The NHL IS going soft. What league are you watching?
- RogerRoeper

I watch 60 mins of hockey a night when the Leafs aren’t playing. 90-120 if they are..

I like to watch the teams with star talent, lol..

So EDM, WSH, TB, BOS catch my 👀...

Also, I see the Leafs opponents play the Leafs.

I’m pretty sure all of that constitutes as NHL hockey.

The Leafs are the softest team in the league. I assure you, it’s not “the way the league is going,” maybe it did trend that direction for awhile, but it bottomed out. Now it’s holding firm, or trending back in the other direction.

The pendulum swings..

So Leafs don't have "Star Talent"? LOL.
Why are Leafs nowhere close to last in hits then?

The Leafs are 9-5-4. 3-0-2 in their last 5. 2nd in the Division.

(frank) it, fire Dubas, blow it up, and rebuild properly!

- Steven_Seagull

Don't forget that they literally haven't played with a healthy roster yet.

And the backup is atrocious.

This looks like it's going to be a sh!t show year. Injuries to key players, slumping stars, no physicality, going through the motions. Dubas will stand pat, the team will make the playoffs, lose in 5 and then the hand-wringing and moaning will start in the board room.

The fanbase was told to be patient with the rebuild. It's now past that point since the young stars are out of their entry level years and still no playoff success. Coach? GM? Upper management content with a full arena and top dollar values for tickets? Sounds like another session of Blue and White disease. Might as well book the idea that another generation of Leafs fans will be cheering for overpaid mercenaries that have their own interests at heart. The fans are just the conduit for riches for the players, management and companies that own MLS&E.

As a fan for over 50 years, I've begun tuning out the games. I watch for a while, get disinterested, then watch the last 10 minutes to get a result. It's no joy watching the effort of this underachieving team.

- PrinceLH

Does that mean we don’t have to hear from you again till the offseason?

It's odd to me seeing the Leafs record despite having pretty bad backup goaltending, injuries, worse schedule BY FAR and hearing the negativity.

Auston Matthews has no heart! He sucks! Uh, 60 goal pace...

- RogerRoeper

Fixed that for you.

Love the HNIC spin that Andersen is the best goalie in the world and the Leafs are nothing without him. HAHAHA. Bad stats and never plays swell in the playoffs. How can anyone think he's close to the best?

It's been 18 games. Time to award the Stanley cup to a team! Leafs suck. St. Louis went wire to wire last year. True story.

Critique isn't critique when it's just negative comments about how this team isn't winning anything in less than 25% of the season.

Like why play the games if we are going to do that?

I have no problem with my homer-ism. I don't need to be critical because it doesn't matter when I am. I don't get paid for that.

Thats a bit silly IMO.

He's played good at a .915 save percentage. On pace for 100 points with your goalie doing that? I'd say its average.

Then you take in account Hutchinsons 5 game losing streak at .885? Tough to win games when your backup is playing that poorly.

Yeah, you need your goalie to play well to win games in this league, I wouldn't go overboard with it and say he is the reason they are winning.

You're joking right? His save % was under 900 the entire first month of the season.

You're falling right into this narrative that he saves the team nightly. His numbers are rising, but still bottom 3rd in NHL goalies.

Andersen has been fantastic this year. Take away the Tampa game, and his stats are among the best in the league.

Andersen is a consistant 918, 919 goalie. Good, but not great. And he's been bad in the playoffs.

Drop the narrative he's the best and carrying the Leafs.

Andersen is 22nd in save %, 23rd in GAA. Hand him the Vezina now!
