Play Petan in his spot.
Don’t disrupt the lineup and have JT go back to his days where he plays with two 3rd liners every year. - Santo_44
Yeah.
Petan deserves a legit shot, and I think he’ll earn it. |

This looks like it's going to be a sh!t show year. Injuries to key players, slumping stars, no physicality, going through the motions. Dubas will stand pat, the team will make the playoffs, lose in 5 and then the hand-wringing and moaning will start in the board room.
The fanbase was told to be patient with the rebuild. It's now past that point since the young stars are out of their entry level years and still no playoff success. Coach? GM? Upper management content with a full arena and top dollar values for tickets? Sounds like another session of Blue and White disease. Might as well book the idea that another generation of Leafs fans will be cheering for overpaid mercenaries that have their own interests at heart. The fans are just the conduit for riches for the players, management and companies that own MLS&E.
As a fan for over 50 years, I've begun tuning out the games. I watch for a while, get disinterested, then watch the last 10 minutes to get a result. It's no joy watching the effort of this underachieving team. |

Leafs are 9-9, 3-2 in their last 5. Only once beat a top-10 team.

I used to be like that......never missing a game. I'd often go to see games live, in Toronto and when the Leafs were on the road in Ottawa and Montreal. Hockey today is different. There are no character guys on this team. It's almost homogenized to the point that it's unwatchable, especially in the regular season. No hitting, no fighting, no sustained puck battles. It shows in their penalties, for and against. No effort during puck battles fail to draw penalties. The Leafs game is really hard to watch these days. For the few sustained possession minutes, in the game, it's not worth watching with other teams physically winning most games. Even in their victories, it's last minute heroics, after falling behind early. This kind of play would never pass the smell test under a Pat Quinn or Pat Burns. I applaud your loyalty, but in time, you'll probably feel jaded and wish that you hadn't wasted your time cheering for this team.
p.s. This team has taken on the persona of it's GM. No thanks! |

Yeah..
I feel like the Leafs are at the forefront of these stupid changes, and I think the rest of the league is laughing at us. The NHL will never go soft because it’s predominantly American, and they (we aswell) enjoy violence. I think it’s a new era of entitled athletes. They see NBA players getting load management, they get paid earlier, they come up through cookie-cutter systems and programs.
Long gone are the days that a kid from North Ontario or Saskatchewan playing on ODR’s have a chance of living out his/her dream. You have to have rich parents and live near the GTA now.. |

I think Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Kap could be really awesome.
I want them to have sustained time together...JT is still dangerous with Moore and Petan.
Also having Petan there for a few games truly showcases him. He has to prove he’s worth the two year investment. |

It's odd to me seeing the Leafs record despite having pretty bad goaltending, injuries, worse schedule BY FAR and hearing the negativity.
Auston Matthews has no heart! He sucks! Uh, 60 goal pace... |

Love the HNIC spin that Andersen is the best goalie in the world and the Leafs are nothing without him. HAHAHA. Bad stats and never plays swell in the playoffs. How can anyone think he's close to the best? |
