Markstrom headed home for the funeral, Mac would be the logical choice, but maybe they have a CHL goalie they can call on an emergency basis instead...

As you know the last one they did that too is actually having a very good career with the Comets

I guess Mikey D will get the start today and they will call up MacIntyre . Bachman will back up MDP

I doubt there’s a team in the league that will go the entire season without losing three in a row.

Blame? People are talking about what to do about the 2nd line problem and it keeps coming back to "blame" and "excuses" from you.... get over the Captaincy decision already. Its a little early to strip the C from Horvat because he's cold.
- boonerbuck

lol true. But I do wish he'd play tougher hockey though. Not so much the Sedin mold which he was mentored in but the Iggy mold. Too bad we just could clone Iginla...

They were saying yesterday on the broadcast that the Canucks only play every second night for quite a while so a single goalie could get a run of games.

Give Marky as much time as he needs.

Anybody else think that the team played much better in the third period last night than the first two periods when the big line was split up a bit?

Maybe work off tandems more often and if need be load up the big line when needing a goal.

Right after Gillis was fired.

Canucks don't do afternoons.

They may have played better but there but there is no good excuse or silver linings . They need to wake up.

They are in a funk for sure which was to be expected. All depends on how they play through it.

Yup.

I will say one thing though , if they do lose 12 of 13 this year it would be time to look for answers. This is a better team and they should not be going through that sort of slump.

They need to play together as a unit. Effort is there, they are playing hard. It just doesn't look like it because they are always chasing the game.

I saw so many rushes where the puck carrier carried the puck into the zone and the two other players were in a straight line and the player had no one to pass to and when they shot for a rebound the other players had already skated by where a puck would have ended up, even worse players misses the net and you have 3 players that all need to now make a turn and chase back the other way.

Skate the puck back into the corner and pass it back to a defensemen to take a shot with no one in front of the net.

Winnipeg forwards are very good at playing in waves. Have seen Vancouver is capable of playing the same way. They just aren't.

I can't say what's going on in the room or what Green is asking of them exactly but as coach it's time to show them what they are doing and correct it.

What if not a funk, but rather their reality?
Silver lining is another quality draft position.

I have thought Green is a good AHL coach. His players like him and he is good at telling players never to quit and a lot of Rah Rah.

I think when it comes to game plans and strategies him and his staff are over their head.

If the last sentence is true there needs to be a change. This team has lacked structure and consistency for years.

For some reason it reminds me of the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer is explaining levels to Jerry . Where he had the Japanese business men sleeping in drawers.

I think Green is getting to the crest of his wave. Maybe he has nothing more to give.

From what i've seen I would agree. I think he has grown as a coach but lacks the knowledge to take the team to another level.

Green should have been an Asst coach in the NHL first. Learn from a more experienced coach. I really wanted Todd Reirden who took over from Barry after he won the cup.

Berube was asst coach for two years before taking over mid season in STL last year.

Randy Carlyle, John Stevens two names that I hope get an interview if they do make a coaching change.

Huge pressure from FA to make the playoffs this season. Head's will roll if they don't.
