Rust has been on fire

Not so long ago when everybody here wanted to trade/"unload" him, as sweetener to JJ or whatever... the guys forget their playoff heroes quickly.

That's great vision and passing from Marino on that one.

Not that we even want a power play, but the refs are doing their typical screw job here.

Geno Turnover Machino.

He's tried hard at the end of the game and OT to give this away.

Why is Jake taking a faceoff in OT?!

Maybe injury to Crosby? Who were the other two on the ice? Or rather the other non-defenseman?

I counted 3 in the last 10 minutes of game time.

The lack of situational awareness of such an elite veteran player is mind-boggling.

Great hard-fought win. They just stuck with it against a Hawks team that was playing well. And without Letang (and Crosby at the end).

That was the first game in a while that I wasn’t that happy with. They can’t all be gems I guess. Nice to get that monkey off.

Good comeback. I wasn't too impressed with the d core tonight. I thought they lost too many board battles, couldn't hold the puck in the zone and struggled with making good passes. The good thing they did was control the front of the net for Murray.

I was most impressed with Rust and Kahun. I really liked their battle. Galchenyuk had a ton of chances playing with Crosby but didn't convert. I wouldn't give up on him yet.

Hard to judge, it looked similar to how Malkin went down and was out for three weeks. Hopefully that is not the case.

Just to toot my own horn. Was a member of the 171st from '86 - '89. Pretty cool to see it some recognition.

I see Pompeo is tweeting Crosby was injured. I missed the game. Anybody have any insight as to what happened?

It looked like he got his foot hit or tangled up with someone (I can't remember, but I don't think it was a shot) and was seen grimacing afterward. Then, a short bit after that, he took a shot off of his foot. So it seems foot-related, but could also be the knee. He skated off on his own and walked to the locker room, so it doesn't seem that bad. Of course, he could have broken a bone in his foot.

Thanks for the info. The way things are going with this team and the injury bug. It is rare anymore this team can ice its best compliment of players.

Sid left the arena with no boot or anything to help him walk. He had a slight limp.

Does there seem to be way more injuries this year or is it just more noticeable due to the quality of players teams are losing?
