Those other QB’s are also worse than Allen in a lot of categories

Including Jones being worse than Winston with turnovers

Rudolph’s best plays have been run after the catches by his receivers

Minshew led the league in fumbles and has gotten worse in each start the last 3-4 games (oh and is benched already)

If Allen hits legit 2 deep balls this year that he’s missed, he’s more towards 18-20th in YPA, yards per game etc.

Which isn’t great but hardly awful

I had this argument with someone yesterday. The question was asked "what good is more weapons when Allen can't hit a deep pass". Those aren't the weapons he needs. He needs guys that are a YAC threat. The only one that really fits that bill is Singletary, and even then, we don't know how much of one he really is.

I think Allen actually leads the league in fumbles, just not fumbles lost, a lot of which is luck.

Seems like the Bill's run alot of crossing routes, but lack of size at receiver doesnt help.

John brown and cole Beasley aren't andre Reed that's for sure.

Duke Williams has been inactive the past couple of games. I wonder if his hurt shoulder against Miami is part of it.

shouldn't beasley be a YAC guy?

seems he always has to go to the ground to make catches, which makes it impossible.

To some extent, but he never struck me as a guy that could catch it 5-10 yards down field and then take it another 40-50 yards to the house.

Yeah i don't think hes THAT guy, but in dallas he was always an edelman type. Catch it then somehow get another 8 yards.

That doesn't happen here because he's never getting hit in stride.

This may be completely wrong. PFR only has YAC stats for last year and hes 1.6 yards better this year (3.3 vs 4.9)

Although he was vocal about hating the offense he played in last year

It also feels like this team never has a successful screen, which takes away lots of yards

Duke Could be hurt, their giving up a long threat

I'm an allen fan. Plain and simple. I like the guy, he's good for the community and is still a young project.

Even the non allen fans have to realize the Bill's do not have a true #1 wr? Maybe not?

Looks like Botterill isn't going to do anything

Its fascinating to watch a GM piss away a season in real time. Twice.

Lazar is 2nd in ppg in rochester and is older. my guess is they just want him to stay longer and work on something. Either way its not like bringing up lazar or tage is going to drastically improve the team. Hopefully is wakes them up and they start playing harder like they did early on

Allen will get another year and that is fine.

But currently, Allen is a bottom 10 starter in this league.

He is 32 in completion %
Most of his other stats are around the same.
People want to believe in him, but I am starting not to.
Look at other young QBs in the NFL, Gardner Minshew, Daniel Jones, Mason Rudolph, Kyler Murray, etc are all coming in and putting up numbers.

Allen is not, he is a major problem with this offense IMO.

Allen has never been an accurate on the money QB, he never really amounted to anything in college either. He was never a big numbers guy. But people fell in love with his size, which is the dumbest thing people do. Size does not matter for QB.

- ImThatGuy

But, he's big and strong, has a big arm. Isn't that close to how Beene responded to questions of what he and the team saw in him to move up into 7th to draft him?

He is still relatively young, but his development seems to have plateaued over the past several games. Question is, can he improve his mental part of the game...ie process the game at the speed required?

Curtis Lazar has been called up because Johansson has an upper-body injury and is day-to-day and Sobotka is out 4-to-6 weeks. Bogosian has been upgraded to week-to-week, while Scandella is day-to-day.
