I think there's a bit of a paradox with Mittelstadt. He needs more ice time to get more points, but hes not good enough defensively to get the time. Hes stuck in a rough place

I think he is trending upwards as I see flashes of what he can be. He was one of their better players in Sweden.

I think he's one of the players that could have benefited from time in the AHL.

Though Sam never did and after Christmas a few years back, the light went on for him and he became solid.

I dont get why he didnt go back to school another year. IMO he wasnt in another tier in college like some others have been.

Guaranteed money. He had the leverage. He used it.

I think the question was posed as “why didn’t botts keep him in school” for that reason. It’s a valid question. He says he wants to marinate young players and then goes and does that.

I wonder if he was afraid of losing him.

The organization just lost that goalie I already forgot about, maybe he didn't want to lose him too.

Losing a guy live Vesey or that goalie when drafted in later rounds is one thing, losing a number 8 pick would be a disaster.

Exactly. Mittelstadt had the leverage. Remember, part of his deal was that he was to be NHL eligible right after his year at Minnesota ended, thus burning a year on his entry level deal. His agent did a really good job of convincing Botterill he was willing to go that route.

The goalie was Cal Petersen out of Notre Dame.

If he really wanted the money, he wasn’t going to stay 4 years anyways. I don’t see it.

And if he tears an Achilles tendon during year 2 of college? He gets $0. If you have the leverage, you take it. You can always go back to school later.

I think Fasching got to burn a year of his eligibility as well. That worked.

It's not being afraid of getting hurt. I don't plan on getting killed in a car accident on my way home from work. I still have a life insurance policy just in case.

You can, but if I can make $925,000 at 18 years old, I'm taking it. Again, I can always go back to school later, just like Botterill himself did.

IMO the only real casey point can be is he then went on the international stage and lead in points so one could think he was ready when in fact he was not.

I do however feel better teams done factor outcomes on them they are role players till ready.
People want him to be the 2c out of need but based on performance nowhere close

See, that's where I think he did, or at least his agent did. Not only did Botterill sign him one year out of college, he burned a year of his entry level deal on 10 or so meaningless games. He didn't even go to Rochester. There's no way the team does that unless it doesn't have the leverage.

Maybe you should, considering that a society/civilization, has never, in recorded human history, survived mass immigration from 3rd world countries.

Also your point on their LGBTQ views: this is just another lie/disinformation talking point peddled to the masses. Gays were not allowed to own land, serve in the military, hold political office, etc.

- BareMetal

Define “mass.” And please tell us how you have come to know so much about Canada’s immigration policy based upon primary research/ documents, rather than the manufactured crisis-war on Xmas- poor little white man sources you will inevitably site.

My argument is simple and has yet to be refuted: I have listened to the comments - IN CONTEXT - on video and I have read them. They don't offened me, and I cannot understand how a reasonable person could be offended by them.

I have asked repeatedly why they are offensive, and have yet to be told why. I have been insulted at least twice for telling people their definition of offensive being "that's offensive" is unacceptable. You, in fact are one of those people who resorted to insults. your definition of insult seem to be whatever you need it to be at the time.

- lacaprup

False. I have told you already, last night.
