i believe Ralph and Botts recognize the situation. And believe some shakeups are on the immediate horizon. And suspect one may piss off the fan base. We should see some action after the party is over and they get back home. And within the next three games.

Yeah here’s a funny stat:

We’re 8-1-1 with scandella
We’re 1-5 without scandella
Never thought I’d type that though some of it may be random

This is actually an amazing stat and shocking

Weird how early we are in the season and it feels like the season is over to me. Trades NEED to be made - and the kind where we're the clear winner of the trade (like the one St Louis made last year). This current roster will not make the playoffs.

50 years of this bullsh!t - I'm about done with this crap. How much can a guy take ?

- kritter65

Yeah frustrating but don’t give up hope yet. I don’t. Think this will be like last year though we are missing something. Probably 2 or 3 pieces but they’re not easy to get especially with are $0 in Salary cap space

This fan base loves to overreact about small sample sizes. Before the season we were projected to finish around 90 points. Just because we played a good first 10 games doesn’t change that fact.

I warned people not to make any judgements until game 40. We haven’t even played 20% of the season yet and we’ve went from “this team is for real” to “we are finishing bottom 5 and Botts is a goner”.

And this is also why I am so harsh about the Josh Allen lovefest

Both the bills and Sabres have been fake good.

Botterill has basically an entire week off to do something. Hopefully he was flipping a Gubbröra bar while watching that game

If we were not on an 8 year playoff drought, it would be easier to have faith and wait.

It's not wrong to hope.

We were all hoping that Ralph really was the answer.

The answer for us long suffering Sabres fans to have an optimistic outlook at long last for a season.

Like many of us, I am just so (frank)ing frustrated.
When does this losing culture finally (frank)ing stop here for (frank)'s sake?

I can totally understand anyone's frustration with this team.

Thank God for Samson this weekend and moving forward.

The thing is too ..... no coach can fix this. Kruger housley etc all tried to fix this team and literally nothing.

It’s the players that need to be moved

- Sabretooth9

BINGO!
No fire sale required, but holy crap do they need an infusion of talent, heart and truculence.

Unforegiveable for not targeting Kucherov for that hit. It should have an an onslaught of hits from everyone, led by Risto, the physical-play beast. Nothing.

Very disappointing.
Threatening to fall to 9th in the Conference very quickly.

Can we now finally agree that moves need to ge made, or do we need to wait until the end of November when they'll be in 11th in the Conference.

I've given sam a hard time for his toughness.

I'm impressed. Just goes to show anyone, not only the big guys need to stick up for each other.

Good to see . It's part of the game

- Boss34

Definitely took a few quite some time to come around on him

I used to have to argue with the cherry-picking crybaby for pages on end that Sam was a good player
He’s earning himself the long term contract that’s coming

Does a lot that doesn’t show up on a stat sheet

They lost tonight cuz our #1 goalie was outplayed by a goalie with a 3.1 gaa and 0.89 save % coming in. Hutton has been really good this year but not today. Plus are scorers have to score- missed way too many chances today. We could have won 7-3. Sounds crazy but look at the highlights we really could have.

And one more time: (frank) the refs
(frank) The nhl - if they weren’t pssies they would have suspended Kucherov for today’s game with a hearing in ny when he got back. But god forbid They take a star player out of their international classic. (frank)ing pssies

- turbo044

I would say that is fair, and an indictment on our forwards' inability to finish.

he is probably our second best all around sabre
- homiedclown

I'd say consistency is his drawback.

Pretty much like every other Sabre and most nhl players.

I just dont understand: how the sabres let some guy check your captain awkwardly, and watch the guy stand over him. Taunting him.

Why doesnt that bother jack himself?
He just took it

Crazy the difference a few weeks can make, but hey I stayed even keeled when we started 8-1-1 and remain even keeled even though we’ve gone 1-5-1 in our past 7.

This team is exactly what our record says it is. We were never as good as our start, and not nearly as bad as the last stretch here. We are on pace for 96 points right now.

The same question marks that hover around this team are the same ones that we had before the season even started. Can Hutton/Ullmark provide us league average goaltending and who is our #2 C.

These threads have been an emotional rollercoaster these past few weeks from the highest of highs to the highest of lows. Kind of resembles the emotions of the locker room itself over the past couple of years.

Botts needs to make a move, and I’m sure he will. Everyone can blame themselves for drinking the koolaid too soon.

I hope you’re right but I’m not buying. I think they realize that this team is not going to be competitive this year but they will be better. They’ wait for the off-season,get some cap space and make a few moves. They may make a minor move or two this year but nothing that’s going to make a difference.

Do something for gods sake JB !!!!! Get a player with some sand, get a player that is not afraid, get a player that will go to the net and stay there.

how hard can this possibly be to put a team out there that is fun to watch?

This is also what I'd predict from Botts. I can't picture a season-changing move being made here.
Theoretically, there could be some TDL action with so many expiring contracts, but Botts has largely shied away from this. The offseason will provide some changes.

I wish we picked leon or pasternak

He doesnt compare to those guys.

Eventually we need to start winning or trade some of these guys that have been here for all the losing.

Losing that McDavid lottery broke my heart even though Eichel was a good consolation prize (imagine if we won a few more games that year and ended up with Strome).

Picking Sam over Draisatil is something Murray had control over though and that stings almost as much.

I love Eichel, I’ve come around on Sam and would like to see him resigned and stick around long term. We still got the chance to add two pieces to our core here moving forward but damn.

If they give Sam a big extension, and this is our core, I have serious concerns.
