I’d rather Desjardins over this piece of poop.....ok no I wouldn’t, that’s just (frank)ing stupid, but so is Green. - Makita
Now you’re getting carried away. LE would’ve played 13+ minutes if WD was coaching tonight. He literally rolled his lines out in order just to avoid hurting feelings.
I’d rather have a HB poster coach the team over WD, and I wish I was joking.

You did see the part where I stated I was just being stupid. Green is no better than Desjardins, so Dragon would be a better fit.

He's miles better than WD. You may find this bias, I credited him with the excellent place they had....and rightfully so. But I don't think the issue we have now is due to green. I think it's an internal problem with the team, quite deflated.
However I do think green should do something about it. Some coaches get involved at times like that some avoid getting involved in player issues. I think he should squash it and get the team back to playing the hockey they can

He’s had them playing great puck, obviously not tonight. There’s going to be tough games, guys go up and down. Myers hasn’t looked as good the past 3-4 games for example. I love the mentality of the team in general and am not worried. Just had a 8 game point streak snapped, that’s impressive for any team let alone a young one. Many of us including me had this team just missing the dance. It’s been a better team than that so far, no complaints from me until it’s prolonged struggle.
Not a Sven fan, but, would be fine seeing him in the lineup tonight.
Insert him into Bo's line with Jake and Pearson with Sutter and Leivo.
Press box for Loudini and demote Gaudette, Don' know who they can recall from Utica, but maybe call up their best role player for the 4th line, Bailey, Zacmac, who cares, anyone but Loudini.
I try, honestly I really try to give Green the benefit of doubt, but I do not like his coaching tactics or strategies one bit.
Dragon, you may like him and be ok with his ineptitude but this guy couldn’t prepare a team for a game to save his life.
He has no vision, no understanding of player chemistry, no understanding of line matching, no understanding of player and team dynamics.
I can only hope Benning realizes this early enough before it’s too late.

I am with you on this.
Another flaw of his is not playing some players more, when they appear to be playing well. The other night, I thought Jake was playing well, while a couple other players were playing not-so-well, yet Jake ended up with less playing time than, (about 12 minutes) than those 2 players.
No reason why Green can't at least play these guys some extra minutes on the 4th line with Beagle and Schaller.

That seems a bit... hyperbolic.
I don’t think he played as long as he did in the NHL, then coach through the WHL and AHL to the NHL with literally zero idea about any of that. Don’t like him? Sure, whatever. But that’s a stretch.
As for preparing a team, wasn’t everyone complimenting the team a week ago when they were constantly flying out of the gates? It’s like the JB argument: if it’s something positive, it’s someone else who’s worthy of the praise; if it’s negative, it’s his fault.

Maybe everyone was complimenting the team a week ago, I can remember saying that I will give Green the benefit of doubt because he has a better lineup.
Well in my opinion he is just as poopty as he has been the last few years, benefit of doubt no longer given, he’s crap.

So, when they were winning it was in spite of Green, and now they’ve lost a couple in a row they’re losing because of him? It’s the same logic as the JB and Brackett drafting argument.
Most people thought this team would be a bubble team, and they’re on pace for that. This isn’t a Tampa or Boston level of lineup, so they’re not underperforming.
Are there better coaches out there? Yes. But they’re employed by other teams, so hard to change for one of them.

Green is partially responsible but it's not all on him. The defensive slights this club has shown over the past 4-5 games has to hinge on his other coaches too. Marky set the tone with that weak first goal as we can't expect him to be perfect every night.
Now injuries are starting (Tanev) and Edler is in the box for half the game so here we go. Can we power through it?
I've maintained trading Edler Tanev for 2-3 seasons now. They neither make us better or worse at this point. Keeping them here is useless and doesn't help the club move forward. We moved on from the Sedins we can move on from Edler Tanev it's time IMO.

Is what it is. On pace for 90-92 pts move 4-5 spots up in the standings all good. To me, this is still not a PO team. Exciting club but gaps to fill. Not being able to grab 2 points from a CHI club which is pretty bad right now tells us the team isn't quite ready. A contending club looks at the standings and sees they are 2 pts away from 1st in the division and gets it done. This club, although improving...isn't there.

That's all? I think I've been on the trade Tanev train for 5 years... At least it feels that way...
