I hope he stays healthy. But I donāt think Kadri was much of a deterrent. They could use a big, tough player. - shack67
He wasnāt.
But at least he stood up for his teammates. Which youād think would rub off on them. They also obviously miss him on the PP.
The tough guy needs to be able to play, those are sorta rare.. Unless you want to go get Reaves.. |

In my opinion, at least. - GreatGigInTheSky
I know he hasn't scored 50 in a season, I think he's capable of it. If/when he does, I don't think you can criticize him. Maybe if he scores 50 and somehow ends up with a -37 plus/minus rating. |

By the way that āembarrassingā comment wasnāt directed at you. I was thinking about jfj and a couple of other people.
But at the end of the season Iāll eat my words about Matthews if youāre right. - shack67
believe me, nothing would make me happier than being wrong.
They are so frustrating because I honestly think they have the best top-to-bottom lineup in hockey, Boston and Tampa being right there with them. They just play well below their potential a lot.

I donāt think heāll play enough games if he keeps taking hits, to hit 50.
All this could be solved if the Leafs had a guy like Wilson. Or at least someone whoāll respond, like Kadri used to. Theyāre missing his presence, he played the right way. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Leafs issues, which they had last year, would be solved if they only had the guy they had.. last year. |

I really liked Kadri. He could throw big hits for his size. |

Yeah, if his minus equals his goal total, then I can see where criticising him would makes sense.
But that's about it, really. |

You're right.. I'm starting to think that maybe they are saving themselves for the playoffs. I hope that they don't take the regular season for granted and miss the playoffs altogether. That would suck |

So what if he has 52 goals, 33 assists. Finished 12th in league scoring and 5 players score more than him (I know, not likely)
Would it still be wrong to note that he is not living up to his contract?
This is all hypothetical of course. My point is, you need to look at way more than just goals. |

Kadriās played the right way.
Sometimes he crossed the line, but overall he brought a lot of character that I think they could use rn. They love him in COL, heās been a big part of their success. |

After reading some of those sundin comments in the other thread I looked up his stats... did u know that his best season ever he put up 94 pts... his next best seasons were 85, 83, 83...
Mitch hit 94 already once...
Just seems unfathomable... especially playing in the 90's/early 2000's. |

I would be surprised if he doesn't score 50 and is not top-3 in goals scored by the end of the year. |

Funny enough could you imagine the drama in here over the last 6 months if Toronto actually was Tampa?
First round sweep, keep the coach, start the season 6-5-2 on the outside looking in. It would be pandemonium. |

It would be 100x worse in here because of those shattered expectations.
I still think Tampa is the favourite this year, although it is tough to not believe in Boston.
Aside from the expectations, I think Tampa and Toronto are both going through the same thing, right down to maybe the team is shutting out the coach(es).

85 points and 12th in league scoring does not make him worth that contract.

Irrelevant to the point, the Leafs were the same soft team last year. |
