Nice win!
Must be weird for Malkin watching Rust play with the #17 jersey...! |

I had to dip out for a bit so I just finished the game. I liked the line changes. I commented on it earlier, Galchenyuk is over supporting the puck carrier and that’s why he’s not able to hit the soft spots like we see Kahun do so often
Speaking of Kahun. His lack of opportunities reminds me of some Babcock style coaching
Happy to see Rust thriving and I hope he keeps it up. I know a couple of us have been waiting for his top 6 opportunity and he didn’t disappoint 🙌🏼 |

Not sure if Rust got a piece of the McCann goal but he was the one providing the screen. He and McCann should’ve been stars 1&2 |

I agree. I’m fine with Simon on sids wing but as mentioned in here I think I’d like to see Kahun there. Sounds like a Simon who can finish - 10inchTerror
Simon is fine in certain games. I think he gets stale pretty quick. It's going to be fluid all year. Tanev would have been the perfect fit against the Isle tonight. |

he doesn't do anything bad, but he does nothing good. He's not physical, he has no hands, no shot....hes just a vanilla player.
I have a feeling Shultz is gone at some point. |

When Simon is given time and space he he excels. If it's tight checking and physical not so much. Add that to Jake's lack of strength down low and on D and it's not a great recipe for success. Sid has to do all the work. I do think Simon is better defensively than Jake but you can't take the finish off that line. Especially if Sid is gonna look to pass 99.99% of the time. |

I honestly can't remember the last time that Geno was dominant on a consistent basis, or at least for good long stretch. Sure, he usually ends up with a lot of points, but it seems like a long time since we've seen Machino. - Hockey66
2nd half of 2017-2018 season, Malkin forced his way into the MVP conversation. Wasn't that last year, too early to say this year since he's barely played. |

Rust has gotten his share of chances. He just tends to be very streaky where he'll score a ton for a few weeks, then nothing for 2 months. The lack of consistency holds him back, but he always has a run or 2 like this every year. |

Couldn't watch the third. Did the McCann-Malkin combo look like something they should keep going with? |

My Jersey collection isn’t getting any bigger. Lemieux, Adams, Letang, Ryan Smyth Edmonton and LA. I’ll get a Crosby jersey when he retires. |

Looks like Geno worked better with two fast players like McCann and Rust. Would Galchenyuk be a fit on a line with Bjugstad and Hörnqvist? This would make the team very dangerous if it works. |

I am hoping that Galchenyuk pulls a Kahun and is just having a slow start. I think Galchenyuk and Simon are the 2 I feel JR is looking to upgrade. I love Rust and I feel like he does this every season where he gives nonstop effort which wins us a game. Even though I do not want to trade him, I feel he is who JR actually trades this season. The game started off with me wondering if Jarry would have been the better goalie to start. I question if maybe they want to give Murray a game or 2 off going forward even though he pulled it together at the end. |

This supports my point of Simon is in over his head playing on the top line. Just put him on the fourth line and wait for the time when changes are needed to shake things up. |

I don't think Simon is a guy Sullivan wants to trade lol The guy has the hockey IQ to keep up with Guentzel and Crosby and makes a lot of nice little plays. Wish he could finish better though. A guy I'd keep for sure.
I wish we could get Zucker and Athanasiou lol Speed speed speed |

Athanasiou would be an awesome pickup. Rumors have us tied to Fiala and Toffoli (even though I would rather Iafallo due to his speed). We have a bunch of teams scouting us. He will probably make a move next month. |

Nice man. Share with us your sources I like Toffoli. Fiala would bring a little more speed as well. |
