Overall a pretty dominant game for the Leafs last night.

only thing close was the shots which the Leafs hit every skate and missed the net 700 times.

CF% 46-35 56.79%
Shots 17-16
Scoring chances 22-12 64.71%
High danger 7-4 63.64%

Feels like a pretty Babsy type game, lower event. low scoring. pretty boring for 85% of it.

Kings are not good, but the results reflect that

Looking at LA.

The leafs will never trade for Doughty but Clifford could very well be a leaf eventually

Pretty sure they tried to get him last year.

That’s all my trade talk for the day.

Waiting is good.

Fans screamed at the leafs all those years for trading talented young players after half a season of lacklustre play...Now it’s the opposite.

Nylander is different blah blah blah. He isn’t.

- Santo_44

there's a single very visible flaw in the comparison you're drawing here - yes the Leafs for years dealt away young players for aging vets and quick fixes - and they often did so with no one else coming up behind those young players that they traded away.

ref Randy Carlyle - there are many many others.

the difference at this point in time is no one is suggesting throwing Nylander away for a couple of old "meh's" or average players, its an attempt to address a hole in the roster and a lack of physicality.

wasn't it Dubas himself who said - "we draft for talent", "we can always trade for players with balls later"...

no one is suggesting throwing Nylander away, rather finding a better fit for him where he can be the scoring guy rather than the complimentary guy he is in Toronto..

hard no on Murray... Savard would be much preferred ... Murray is injury prone and plays a very "light" game

This.

He’s knows this, too. He’s purposely omitting it because they’ll try anything to defend Willy. They make up ridiculous metrics to try to explain how good he is “primary shot assists / zone entries / Cx%#£¥+\<“ whatever. They don’t understand how hockey is played, you’d have to teach them the fundamentals of a sport that they spent their entire lives ignoring.

also believe that you get more out of Buffalo shortly (when they start to trail off) with a package based on Nylander than you do from Columbus.

Nylander went through a tough stretch, any fan judging him on last year alone is crazy.

He’s an extremely talented player that seems to be taking shifts off. That’s not acceptable BUT something that a 23 year old can fix.

When he’s on his game he’s one of the better players at holding onto the puck in the O zone...yes that means along the boards.

Trading him would be silly, when he’s on his game he’s shown he is a very important player to this team.

It sucks he’s not putting it all together right now...but he will eventually and I hope it’s on the leafs and not another team.

Two years ago they were screaming for Marner to be traded because of a bad October.

I would do Anderson and Savard for Nylander and Marincin.

2 for 2 trade.
I don't want to trade Nylander, but those are two guys I would target, if I was forced to trade Nylander.

If the Kings were a half decent team we would have lost last night.
