It’s all Malkin’s fault.

Honestly wouldn’t blame any penguin on that play and just give straight kudos to Marchy for being a beast. That goal was all him. Pens did everything they could to get that puck off him and he somehow got it over to Krug for a (frank)ing laser beam.

Just one of those plays you tap your stick to an elite hockey player.

It is really incredible hows hes been able to cheapshot players for years and rarely get in trouble.

Edit, i mean he gets suspended, but the fact that he is a repeat offender doesn't ever seem to effect the suspensions

I really like the Tanev-Blueger-ZAR 4th line. But I think Lafferty deserves a full time spot.

Obviously were dealing with injuries but I still think one of Hornqvist or Bjugstad will need to be traded. Would be eyeing RH sniper or Johnson replacement...

- YouMeAndDupuis9

In this case I’d probably keep Bjugstad and trade Hörnqvist....but there is this thing called No Trade Clause.

I still believe Zucker is a player we’d like to have on our top 6. In this case, the Wild probably would ask for Bjugstad+Roster player+Pick. #27 is well known in Minnesota.

Arguably the best LW in the league.

He’s the best goal scorer in the game. Marchand, as big if a piece of poop as he is, is a more well rounded player than Ovie.

Well, both are in a class where best is pretty relative...

But don't forget that Ovi wears "the C" for a reason, for sure will be first in HOF and - the most important argument for us both - gets drafted 3.0 (vs. 7.7 for March) in Yahoo fantasy leagues! (ok, March may be the better option in HBSL due lower salary...)

I’m not saying it’s a large margin of difference.

I think Horny is close to untradeable due to NTC, age, salary/term, and injury status/concussion history.

I would hesitate trading Bjug due to lack of quality center depth, but as Rino mentioned, it could be considered if it is to upgrade the defense or gain cap space as a part of a larger move.

Fact is we have too many forwards, even with the Horny injury as Lafferty should probably be playing and Kahun should not be scratched when we have a fully healthy roster (but I could see ZAR getting scratched in that future scenario).

The defense, however, is extremely tenuous. With Letang out and seemingly out for stretches every season now, Schultz and Marino are probably not qualified to move up a spot and then we see a lot of Ruh, who isn't terrible, but definitely a downgrade. The left side is equally a mess with JJ as the full-time 3LD and no one qualified behind him. If Dumo or Petts get injured, we are screwed.

Definitely would give Kahun a chance with Sid and Jake. Just Swap Simon and Kahun and see what happens.

Don't we need an extra forward with Horny out?

Indeed there are just 12 healthy forwards + Laff.

Not the worst idea, but they didn't have one last game.

Yea true, maybe they just don't wanna go long term with 12 fowards. Anyone can tweak something and may have to miss a game or two

I agree they should, but they've played a few games with 12 forwards and an extra space. Not just last game, but when Dumoulin was on IR. They're probably trying to maximize cap space for an addition later.

Hopefully they've just decided to change that, it's smarter to carry another forward just in case, but it's not a coincidence to me that Malkin missed practice.

If it's just to be an emergency backup, I wish someone else was called up and Lafferty kept playing in the minors until there was a clear opening.

Yeah but its also like a respect thing for the guys who deserve it. To be up with the big club practicing and hanging out....and also being paid more I believe in his case.

I understand the wanting to keep them sharp and playing in AHL as well.
