I don't even have to check your team affiliation.
If you saw something that was "very clear" that the rest of us didn't, you're a hawk fan.

This team is a contending team in transition. The defense is built to be led by Reilly, Sandin and Liljegren. Ceci was a necessity for the zaitsev contract which zaitsev has struggled in Ottawa too, (and everyone commends Lou) that being said, this team can be a contender. I think two things, health and heart 100%. Next new pairings,
Reilly - Barrie
Muzzin - Dermott
Ceci - Hill
Ceci while not terrible or atrocious is no where even close to a top pairing. He needs to be sheltered completely and the only way for that is the bottom pairing.
Also two things I wouldn't complain about, Nylander for a gritty scorer, do it, and Kapanen for a good young up and coming defenseman do it. They are expendable for the right player easily. |

so what % of the games do you think the Leafs have played so far with the Lead? - senstroll
% of total game time played with the lead? .....my guess is 26%? |

I tried to warn the fanbase, but it fell on deaf ears. It was very clear (from an unbiased opinion) that the Leafs defense was lacking. In fact, the Ceci trade is looking worst and worst by the day.
The leafs need a way to an actual defensemen, but now they are lacking their 1st. Who goes and to where? Nylander? Kap? - RedRevenge
Well where would we all be without you?
Wait... Ceci sucks?
I'd rather have one year of Ceci than 4 years of Zaitzev.

I'm sure Willie has some sparkley heels.
It's true... leafs need a Wendel-esque player...
Even watchin the Philly game and the look on guys like Patrick and konecny. They looked just pissed off and that kind 'f-u' attitude...
Can't see that from annny of the leafs... |

Nylander could get you both a gritty winger that can score and a good defenseman..
I'll say it again, Nylander for Josh Anderson and David Savard.

that would be great, but only 1 team is over 50% at 60% ...the fuking Broons
since you have leading/trailing/tied ..50% Leading would be elite - senstroll
Ugh I thought we were talking about games in which the Leafs had the lead at one point, although I probably would still have said 50%

You cannot explain the Ceci situation so easily. They had a chance to get out from under that cap hit. The decided to pay that much and take a chance, and right now that looks like a bad call.

True.
but 0 years of Ceci, or a more easily trade-able contract would have been better still.

You would be lucky to get one of them. I don't think the Leafs would be selling high at the moment.

I don't think that's selling high on Nylander.
I don't want to trade him at all.. I think he will be better than he has shown so far.. I do think that if they did trade him, he would get you a gritty winger and a good defenseman.
Savard 4.25M Cap hit
Anderson 1.85M Cap hit
Willy 6.962M hit
We would save $800k on the cap too.

I love when 3rd line scoring wingers go to poop teams and do well.
Namestikov, Brown, Tierny....good for them, lets not forget what they are on a good team. |

Carolina and Edmonton ... Would've expected better differential between %lead and %trail for both.
Bruins have been almost perfect. Take and early lead and hold it down. |

this is true for sure...
in Brown's case (can't speak for the others) the nonsense about comparing him with Nylander is silly... its opportunity based completely,
and in this particular case Browns 2M$ CAP hit was too much once the Three Amigos signed overpriced deals... if the combination of Nylander, Matthews and Marner had signed for a 1.5M$ less, Brown wouldn't have needed to be moved.

I'd rather do Willie to ducks for Manson and ritchie... altho... Manson is out for the next little while (mcl sprain)... but imo manson is better than savard (especially in the tough/shut down role we need) but Anderson is better than ritchie (but would cost less probably).

Brown was done here.
Be mad that we had to use him to get rid of a stupid mistake by Lou in signing Z.
We could of gotten a 2nd for him. |
