[quote=mohel]Which GM doesn't. Once we have a list of the really good GM'S that rarely make mistakes, let's run it past the fans of each respective team to see if they agree.

Two truths, imo. All GM'S make mistakes- even Dale. And fans judge their own guy much harder than others.

On the face it is bonehead. AA is injured again, 6 games 1 goal. I think that AA was traded for 2 reasons. #1, he had no market value (i believe they tried to move him at last years TDL without success, and I am sure they would of taken a better offer IF one was available, and #2, once they got the #3 pick, they had Dach penciled in for #3 center, which means AA would of played 4th line center, or LW, not his natural position. So you traded 2 more years of a bad contract with one more year of a bad contract.

I wasn't in favor of that trade, but (as often said by Wolfie) it is likely going to amount to not much.

That said, I'll stick with Stan until someone gives a better option to run the Hawks , with McD in charge.

Here we go again. What goalie starts in Pittsburgh? Does Crawford get a chance to go on a roll? Both are playing good, but I'd choose Crow, just for the fun of it.

Smith also came at the expense of a useful player in AA which makes his performance even more frustrating. For every decent deal that Stan makes, he makes one bonehead one like this.
Stan must be reading these boards because a lot of fans wanted to see AA gone last winter and did not care about what the return would be. I wonder how many of these same posters are complaining about Smith today after getting their wish?

It's a non-issue from performance perspective because neither player moves the needle for this team. The difference with Smith is that he can be bought out next year with a ~$800k cap hit, while AA was still going to be over $3 million.

Also heard that Colliton, Kane, and Toews are taking some time simply talking to the kid. A lot of good stuff happens that fans never see firsthand. Much to their credit.

Yes, they're all working with him as is Lehner (his billet Dad). Nylander credits all of them, and unnamed others on the coaching staff, for helping him find his game.

Stafford>>>>>>>>>Trubiskey

Hahaha, maybe, but Stafford is so over rated, just like Rivers makes a horrible mistake at a critical juncture of the game.

2nd yr coach, 2nd yr QB, Nagy still learning, played Fangio in week 2, everyone has copied this D plan and Nagy having trouble adjusting
