Not sure “sorry excuse for a human being” is a productive use of the English language. If you disagree with his coaching decisions / abilities, criticize those.

Don’t join the political crowd and denigrate the individual because you disagree with his (in this case) decisions.

Another not-so-subtle jab at JC from one of the veteran players:

Ben Pope
@BenPopeCST
Shaw: "Consistency is one of the best things you can have in your game. You know what you're going to get from players every night, and the layout of the lines just going into each period, as well. That just hasn't been there."

- pdx2ord

Q was famous for NEVER changing his lines.

I wonder if Ben Pope thought to ask how this blender is better or worse than Q's blender?

What a sorry excuse for a human being JC is. If their is anyone who needs to be benched it's the captain. His numbers are awful . Benching toews would send a crystal clear message that needs to be sent.

I give JC 2 more weeks at best before he is fired.

Not pretending to be Shaw, but Q was known for adjusting in game based on what opponent was doing in game, wasn't he?

These line changes haven't appeared to be anything other than shuffling chairs, even chairs that were working well together. ETA: or rewarding players for effort, rather than production.

I'm guessing the guys see that.

My only hope is they're (their/there) showcasing Smith to move him.

Nobody is picking up that salary for 2 seasons. At best, Bowman would have to take back another team's overpaid junk.

That said, the Hawks should grab Nic Petan off waivers from Toronto. Then JC could turn another good offensive player into a dump and chase checker.

Wasn't it a theme here that teams found it easy to stop the Hawks - just put a few guys at the blue line because everyone knew they were just gonna carry it in? Some posters were begging them to dump and chase to offset this. Could be that my memory is faulty from the brown liquor.

Tell me about the cups Hossa won with OTT? ATL? PITT? Or the one in DET?

Wait...he didnt? He had to go to CHI (who had to outbid everyone) to join homegrown and developed group of Crawford, Toews, Keith, Kane, Seabrook and Hjarllmarsson to win.

- PatShart

If it weren’t for Hossa, the Blackhawks May have never won a cup.

Data:

Kubalik - 13 GP, 3G, 3A, -1, 37 SOG
Toews - 14 GP, 2G, 4A, -4 28 SOG

Who needs a rest and some feedback?????
Whose play has "dropped off a bit"????

Apparently, JC lost the vets by sitting Seabs a couple times. They might quit and go home if he sits Johnny.

One of those arguing for that would have been me, but to do dump and chase you actually have to chase it.

And I certainly did not advocate it as what to do each and every shift.

Gets back a bit to what DK said in his interview - you have to let the game play dictate what you do, not a bunch of algorithms you have to commit to memory.

Colliton needs to be fired now.

Rest and feedback because his play dropped off? Then franking tell him his play has dropped off to his face. He is 24 and the Hawks have had a light schedule. This isn't a back to back. The "rest" part is complete crap. Give feedback before, during, and after the game... during practice etc. Don't sit him for a guy that gives you less of a chance of winning.

I have no doubt the players can see right through that bull poop. F*** Colliton.

Everyday he remains head coach should be a tally for the firing of Bowman.

JC wants to put him in a 'Safe Zone' - JC coaching style....he will get warm milk and cookies from Enzo wife

That was always a criticism on here about the Hawks continually wanting to carry the puck into the OZ instead of dumping it in behind the defenceman. So your memory isn't faulty. But that was when they had the personnel to play puck possession hockey.

Dump and chase can be effective against many teams, but where the puck is placed is the critical aspect to creating opportunities for offence. Just doing what they were doing vs SJ is totally ineffective. Chasing the puck for 30 seconds, regain possession, dump it in and then change lines is just turnover hockey.

Thanks, Rick. Why the eff did Stan hire a guy who was going to go dump and chase without the personnel?

Or maybe they're just not doing it right at this point?

Seems like a bit of several styles is the way to go.

Funny, I wondered about that. I’m not convinced this is all Colliton’s fault!

Stan obviously wanted to hire somebody who who wasn't going to be insubordinate to him, he had had enough of Q telling him to F off at least once a day - which probably really started up in earnest after he traded Hammer for the great Connor Murphy.

But even Stan probably can't believe his prized coach would turn this team into the lowest scoring team in the NHL. That's some kind of coaching.

It would be EXTREMELY unusual if

1. It is all his fault, or
2. It was none of his fault.

The debate (except for a few posters) is how much fault gets apportioned to the coach, players and front office.

Sounds more like opinion than fact, which is fine. Could be it was the start of a rebuild and he wanted a coach who seems to relate well to young players. That's another opinion. There's certainly more theories out there.

The players have definitely agreed upon their talking point.

Yeah, almost sounds coordinated.......

I think they should can JC and name either Toews or Keith player/coach. They're running the show anyway.

LOL

Weird how they are all using the "thinking too much" comments, isn't it?

Now, these are not dumb or inexperienced players. Is the system counterintuitive?
