Kubalik out for Smith tonight. Fire JC.
- DarthKane

Oh WTF. Why? Is JC concerned that Kubalik won't be able to skate with the Canucks?

Not gonna happen.

Tonight is gonna be that one game where we randomly play well after a stretch of ugly losses, win the game, and get everyone’s hopes up....only to inevitably fall back in to mediocrity/reality the following game.

LOL, I sat at the table next to McD in a local Steak Joint a about a week or so ago. It was amazing how many people recognized him and just ignored him. Had it been in a cup run he would have people flocking over for pics and autographs. BTW if you ever want to send him a drink he likes Coors Lite.

Maybe fans were just being respectful and letting him dine in peace.

From the coach:

Dominik Kubalik is getting benched tonight, which is interesting. Smith subbing in.

"We think his play's dropped off a little bit. We want to get him back to where he was playing earlier. Sometimes rest and some feedback can do that."

- Chunk

Fair enough. At least he's not saying Smith gives them a better chance of winning.

Full quote on Kubalik:
“Young player and it's a long season, a lot of games, I think his play's dropped off a little bit. We want to get him back to where he was playing earlier in the year. Sometimes rest and some feedback can do that because we think he can really help us."

Have a friend that wants a Doug Mohns Jersey, where’s the best place to get custom made jerseys?
- walleyeb1

I just ordered a Secord for a friend from Custom Throwback Jerseys. Can't speak to quality yet, as I won't get it until early December.

With the ghost of Crow in net tonight.
- Beaver-Warrior

Who has something like a 2.26 GAA lifetime against the Canucks already. Aren't they a top offensive team this year?

These decisions, based solely on the opponent for tonight, make zero sense.

What a sorry excuse for a human being JC is. If their is anyone who needs to be benched it's the captain. His numbers are awful . Benching toews would send a crystal clear message that needs to be sent.

I give JC 2 more weeks at best before he is fired.

I suspect he is sending a message, looking for a Nylander-like turnaround/revamp.

But I agree with Tribiassi, who said, "why not play him with the line mates with whom he was successful instead?"

Another not-so-subtle jab at JC from one of the veteran players:

Ben Pope
@BenPopeCST
Shaw: "Consistency is one of the best things you can have in your game. You know what you're going to get from players every night, and the layout of the lines just going into each period, as well. That just hasn't been there."

Not sure “sorry excuse for a human being” is a productive use of the English language. If you disagree with his coaching decisions / abilities, criticize those.

Don’t join the political crowd and denigrate the individual because you disagree with his (in this case) decisions.

I mean I get what you're saying to an extent, but they're not playing the same system they were last year. They've gone from playing a possession style of game to dump and chase which does not suit most of the guys. You can see that by the repeated play in every game: opposing team gets puck, Hawks chase for 30 to 90 seconds in their own zone, get the puck, move to red line, dump the puck in, change, opposing team gets puck, repeat. That's on the coach.

The effort of the players can be questioned for sure. Seems as though there's a lack of respect from some of the players with Colliton. Kinda hard to command respect as a coach when you're the same age or younger than some of your players and they have three cup rings while he has none. This is why having the Core with JC is hard to work out. They would have been better served to hire an experienced head coach for the reminder of the core and when they walk away give the job to Colltion. Bowman shot himself in the foot with this one.

- Savetheembers33

I'm saying the coach needs to make a change to something more compatible to his players or he gets changed, now!

Was there a final sentence from JC that was omitted? - "if Perlini and his agent had of been patient with me and not demanded a trade he would have gotten his turn. Now he is stuck playing for a bad team and a bad coach".

My only hope is they're (their/there) showcasing Smith to move him.

Q also had the blender working all the time, so not sure if this is a jab at JC rather than a comment in general.

Colliton needs to be fired now.

Rest and feedback because his play dropped off? Then franking tell him his play has dropped off to his face. He is 24 and the Hawks have had a light schedule. This isn't a back to back. The "rest" part is complete crap. Give feedback before, during, and after the game... during practice etc. Don't sit him for a guy that gives you less of a chance of winning.

I have no doubt the players can see right through that bull poop. F*** Colliton.

Everyday he remains head coach should be a tally for the firing of Bowman.
