Tell me who this Hawks team can beat. Minnesota maybe? That's about it from what I see. So why wait to fire this coach.

I don't know ,to drop in the standings . There are a couple big time KIDS this year . I believe this team was capable of competing this year ,but there is no compete level at all right now . See if we can get a player a 1st and a prospect for Kane maybe eat 3 or 4 mil of his contract .
Hunter IMO would build a team that all of Chicago would love .Tough and talented .

Believe it or not, Ottawa plays hard and has some good young talent. The Hawks don't match their effort.

Duncan Keith: "Defensively, I think we've made some strides, being able to make a few more plays with the puck coming out of our zone, so that's good. It's just a matter of trying to put it all together here."

You are bang on with no compete level. Hunter would go down to the dressing room and kick some ass after a game like tonight. But Hunter doesn't fit the McD corporate image so forget it.

Yes your right, it a shame cause Hunter hockey would really sell in Chicago. Like when Ted Lindsey went back to Detroit old time hockey back in town ..

Well if it isn't working and by our definition it's not broken why change. If it is frustrating to us fans just imagine what it's like as a player. Too much standing still, never covering the far boards and never ever support the puck carrier with options or simple outlets. Had the pleasure of listening to Pat and Steve today after suffering with the Duck's and King's broadcasts, isn't it sad that Pat announces the so called pushem back play on the power play before it happens? Duncan Keith is a very good hockey player but give him the puck on the Power Play and he has only one move coming out of the zone, it is soooooo sad. It's funny because it was originally done to create space and speed and for the Hawks it does exactly the opposite. We have a Power Play Coach don't we? I was hoping Crawford would share some of the Sedin's down low plays to give us a different look and creativity. Finally what happened to the breast that was Saad? He was dominant a few games ago for a good stretch and started to look like a difference maker but he is back to being an up and down winger with little or nothing going on between the ears. Is Connor Murphy that valuable to his team?

Strange. Powers usually has a postgame story and it’s now 430 am and nothing. Also, the Blackhawks haven’t posted any of the postgame video comments from JC on their website either. Only Kane’s comments are available.

Maybe Colliton called out his team. Alright,' not exactly but he wasn't all smiles. If he is going to get waxed he could choose to push his least favorite culprits.

Yeah, that was bad. Cashed it in after 2 periods. They had started to switch lines up and get a little something going but I'm glad I went to bed.

Just like if you think the lines aren't working, why would you keep throwing the puck in repeatedly when the dump and chase isn't working either?

Hawks have been verrrrry selective with their video posting this year. Heavily edited clips usually, if at all. Sometimes, it takes a while after a road game, but I see that Kane is already out there.

I actually complained to them a couple of times after getting only one one-minute montage clips, with multiple players and JC, after games. Said that we wanted to hear the full post-game Q&A from each player and the coaches, as it's how we get to know and get invested in the team.

Started to get the full videos again after that, but definitely not all of them (e.g, Lehner has only one recent clip out there). McMessage control is working hard this year.

An excerpt from Kane on NHL.com...

"They got that empty net right away without us getting a chance to tie it up," Chicago forward Patrick Kane said. "This is how it's been going for us all year. It seems we take one step forward and two steps back almost every game."

I'd call last night's game more than two steps back.

Another loss and lackluster performance 8 shots total for 2 periods isn't going to get the job done. At this point it's obvious this team isn't going to make the playoffs again.

I know what I'm about to say some hawks fans will criticize me , however I'm just being honest and well past the nostalgia or any preconceived notions this team can win another cup.

Change is needed at the top with a fresh set of eyes and vision for this teans future .

Stan put in place a head coach who has no history of winning or enough experience. Happy talk doesn't win you games or championships.

A aging core who doesn't seem to respect a head coach who hasn't done anything of significance to earn their respect in fact he is their age.

The hawks don't have a winning system in place that elevates the teams skill level .

Toews , Kane, Keith Seabrook and Crawford all need to be moved in order to rebuild this team and its farm system with young prospects .

The dog and pony show one last shift is a joke this team is living in The past.

The few bright spots for Chicago's future Nylander, Dach boqvist

One thing that seems obvious Kane, toews , cat and strome played great last year and had no problem with generating offense , what changed ?

My guess a coach who now has installed a system that nobody can understand or play .

Blow this team up

If that's your question, why wouldn't you just fire the coach?

lamenting the empty netter when they played on empty the prior 57 minutes...
indeed they play most games about two steps slower...
getting two consectutive passes completed in stride happens about 2x a game..

I never get too worried or excited until midway through December, I figure what we see on December 15 is likely the team we'll see for the duration of the year. While it hasn't looked too good so far I'll give it more time before I think coaches need to go and teams need to be blown up. Any new system takes a while to implement or sometimes they don't work at all. Won't surprise me if in the next weeks the team suddenly plays better in all zones and is more competative. Blowing up teams and getting rid of coaches and GMs is a bit premature at this point.

Generally I'd agree, and I don't necessarily think the answer is blowing up the team. Maybe they do have a light bulb moment and everything starts clicking.

It's just looked waaaaayyy off at times so far. I flipped it off after the 2nd, but it sounds like they shortened the end of game 5 minute push to three minutes and made the score closer than the actual game

What player on this team even has the size or speed to play dump and chase outside of maybe Saad? Who the f is supposed to retrieve the puck on a line of Dcat Strome Kane?

I get to watch the Dzone on TV and don’t even know what the poop is going on. Can’t imagine how confusing it is on the ice.

- bhawks2241

Saad might physically be a good dump and chase first man in, but he follows the puck and does not go to where the puck is going to be. He doesn't head the puck off at the pass. Say it again, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

After watching Dach for a bit I'd say he has hockey IQ. He is much better at going to where the puck is going to be than Saad will ever be. It'll take a while before he grows out of the bambi legs that a tall very young player tends to have. But I think in time he will mature physically and get smoother and more powerful on the ice.

Babcock complains about his own team not being able to play a "heavy" game. He sure as hell wouldn't be interested in the Hawks as constructed.

I'm going to tell Dach to learn how to play. What a joke. Learn how to play
