If Bergevin was indeed in attendance to see Beaudin, who is Stan wanting in return? Poehling? Another swap of d-man for forward? Perhaps with Regula on board they are making Beaudin available. I like Beaudin more than Boqvist myself and was hoping they’d be a pairing next season and for the future.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Toews is doing a lot more complaining about everything to officials -much more so than in the past? I do not want him to become that type of captain -one of the reasons why I dislike Crosby.

he has always challenged and yelped about calls...but more often its probably not about his calls but lack of calls on others like kane and adb who get dumped often...

i swear he gets thrown out of faceoffs prob 1/3 of the time...way to often...not sure what he is doing to deserve this

as "C" he can work the officials...

Per Scott Powers post game article, he said Kirby has been limited because he has been targeted by opposing teams and has been hit hard.
- gifman

Powers excerpt on Dach...

Dach, the third overall pick in the 2019 draft, continues to establish that case, too. He earned a permanent invitation to stay with the Blackhawks with his two-way play through six games and became the first Blackhawks draft pick since Kane to stick in the NHL in his draft year.

Since then, Colliton has shown he’s going to slowly add more onto Dach’s plate. He was placed as a net-front presence on a power-play unit for the first time leading into Saturday’s game and set up a goal for Dominik Kubalik at the net. It’s apparent Dach’s ice time could vary game by game, but he was moved up into a top-nine role Sunday and played 12:37. He’s been north of 12 minutes in five of his eight games.

“He’s shown he can help us and he’s only going to get better,” Colliton told reporters when announcing the organization’s decision to not send Dach back to juniors. “I think the player he is now, there’s likely going to be a huge improvement as the year goes on and the player (he is) in February I’m sure is going to be an impact player for us.”

While it does seem Dach has been a target at times, nowhere in Powers article that I could find was that suggested as a reason for him being eased into the lineup.

Also...

The hot take last night was that Dach isn't playing anywhere near enough, and that he should be in Juniors if that continues. He's been "north of 12 minutes in 5 of 8 starts". It seems that hot take will not age well. Such is the nature of hot takes.

Good point, as a C he needs to chirp up the calls - which he has never had any problem in doing

If Toews ever gets a statue in front of the mad house the proper pose would be "Palms Up"

He's been whining like that for years now - this isn't something new. It's gotten to the point where I wouldn't be surprised they call is a little closer on him just because of his antics. As long as Seabrook is still on the team maybe he could stick his head into the penalty box and tell Toews to knock it off ... it worked before.

I've noticed this more and more from him over the last few years. And I agree, it's getting very old. Like shut up and play. Put your complaints on the scoreboard. Seems like it's become an issue throughout most of sports these days. They all seem to do it at every level. Seems these guys are taught to get away with whatever they can these days. In my day, that was considered shameful. But what do I know, i'm just an old guy

I think Rocky needs to start showing his face to the media - showing them the extreme bias of the refs against his team. And then force Bettman to either stand up for the team or the refs.

He's been thrown out a lot more since they changed the rules.

I'll always remember Shawzy saying that the Captain told him re: face-offs, "if you're not cheating, you're not doing it right."

Murphy eligible to comeback November 16th. 5 more games. Just saying.

The refs aren't biased against the Hawks. C'mon.

The refs have been calling a penalty when the stick hits the hands a lot tighter for a couple years now. That's what Toews did - twice. He can whine all he wants - and he does - but those were penalties based on the way the game is being officiated now. The fact that Toews looks up at the screen and sees the replay and still does his WTF palms up routine just shows him to be an idiot.

I also would like to see that third line of Sikura, Dach, and Kubalik, that would be a good 200’ line, and that is exactly what you need from the third line.

I think he means a specific player that Bergevin was looking at, because it only said he was there.

I heard he was in Rockfish to eat at the Clock Tower Inn. Rumor has it Stan pimped him by not revealing the joint was closed.

Yes, someone else mentioned Bergevin being high on Beaudin from the draft. With Regula aboard, perhaps Beaudin is flipped for Poehling. Young 6’2 center that dominated Juniors tourney would be a nice addition.

The problem is that same play happened 50 plus times in the first 2.5 periods and it wasn’t called. Official decides to even up the penalties in the third. Kane gets slashed and hooked every time he has the puck on his stick. Watch him cycle through the top of the zone dangling and I guarantee you there will be a guy on his hip chopping lumber.

I don’t like Toews whining but it’s a legit beef. If you’re gonna call it tight then call it tight the entire game. Don’t decide to change how the games going to be called in the third.

Toews had a legit beef about Kane and Dach getting dumped away from the puck too. Kane was lit up in the ozone in the third and he never even possessed the puck. He was just near the board battle. Dach was also hit from behind and sent face first into the boards.

NHL officiating continues to be a joke.

Makes sense as Montreal is really weak on LD, however maybe Bergevin is in Rockford to look at pieces for a bigger deal since they have cap space, and they struck out in their offer sheets.

Maybe this is pure speculation on my part but Toews has taken way to many penalties this year and its becoming noticeable in plenty of the columns recently written. Maybe the refs are getting tired of his chirping and some calls are right others bad or missed, but if toews would do less chirping and be more aware of his play he wouldn't find himself benched in the penalty box and if he starts producing it will make it a lot harder for the nhl as a whole to penalize a special player.

Remember back in 2010 Chicago's cup run and Seabrook had to have a conversation to refocus toews ?

Maybe it's time for another heart to heart conversation.

Maybe the bigger deal involves Seabrook, and he's there looking at sweeteners.

Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder even asked about it, why do the refs always seem to call things tighter on the Chicago team than any other team?

If you don't ask the same question, then shame on you, you are buying into a phony rigged up league.
