Don't think Asplund has done enough ro warrant a recall. Hamburglar hasn't been great with Amerks
- Michael Pachla

They had 1 spot, and chose Pilut. Agree that he's more deserving.

Asplund’s stats have been decent,
and i thought he looked good in preseason from what i saw
So i don’t think it would be crazy to bring him

Johansson has better stats than Hamburgler
So maybe they’re keeping Johansson in Rochester bc they think he gives them a better chance to win the next few games

Again... not what I’ve been saying
I’ve been saying,
If there was a GOOD TRADE AVAILABLE, then I’m sure Botts would make it”

What possible reason could there otherwise be?

And yes,
I’ll admit that YOUR definition of “good trade” and Botts’ definition of one may not be the same

But he’s done enough for me to give him the benefit of the doubt
If u don’t want to, that’s fine

But at least stop mischaracterizing what I’m saying

- jdfitz77

Yeah, I have no way of knowing that's true

- jcragcrumple

Well... you have no way of knowing it’s not true
And logic dictates that he would

But i also said I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, bc of the good moves he made in the off-season
Moves that you said u liked

So what reason(s) do u have to think that Botts could be refusing to make a “good” trade?

I dont know what offers have been presented, so it would be impossible for me to say. I also dont know what offers he's made, so I have no idea what he thinks is fair market value for his assets

If I had the trade offers in front of me, I could tell you whether he's sitting on something good.

I know he should do something

Nice spin
Now answer the question

What possible reason would Botts have to NOT make a good trade if one were available?

Do we think there's a trade market 1 month into the season?

I have no idea what trades are available, so it would be impossible for me to say whether he's turning down a good one

The correct answer is - he feels what he has is good enough

Which until he actually makes changes we have to operate under that assumption

Great move on the Sabres part. Gets to head back to his homeland as an NHL'er whether he plays or not
- Michael Pachla

Pretty classy move even though he’s really not got a spot at the moment.

It’s reasonable to think Botts could overpay to make a trade happen

I’m ok with him waiting for what he thinks is a good trade

I’m not asking you if he is or isn’t turning down a good trade

You want him to do something

If Botts has a good trade offer in front of him,
say Ehlers for Risto
Why would he turn that down?

What I’m trying to get across is that no one is likely offering Botts a good trade
No, i don’t KNOW that
But why on earth would Botts turn down a good trade?

It’s logical to think that Botts would want to improve the team

FINALLY... an answer!!!

But it still doesn’t make sense
Only way it does is if Botts thinks this team (as currently constructed) will win the Cup
I think that’s far fetched

Even if he likes what we’ve got now,
there’s no reason to think he doesn’t want to continue to improve the team

Yzerman inquired on Risto a few times when he was with Tampa

This Pats Defence is nowhere near as good as the 2013 Seahawks or the 2015 Broncos.

Damn, too late to go back and draft Jackson instead?

Yeah, wonder if we could get 1 or 2 of AA, Perilini, or Erne for Risto and a prospect or pick

I like the Athanasiou idea
But with the start he’s having, he should come at a bit of a discount

I’m not a fan of Perlini or Erne
They don’t do much for me

I could see a deal based around AA & Risto,
with each side adding a part or 2

We don't even have the cap space to sign Pominville and he's toast, why is this being discussed

Broncos allowed 296 Seahawks allowed 231.

The Pats have allowed 98 through 9 games. That's a 174 point pace. I'm not saying that's all they'll allow, but coming into tonight they allowed 7.6 points a game. 41 less than the next closest team. 41! I hate the Pats, but come on, dude. Even the best defenses get lit up.

The Broncos allowed 24 or more 5 times, 10 or less 3 times, no shutouts.

The Seahawks allowed 24 or more twice, 10 or less 7 times, one shutout.

The Pats have allowed 24 or more once so far, and 10 or less 5 times, two shutouts. No matter how bad a team is, it's incredibly hard to get a shutout in an NFL game today especially when the weather is good.
