Not sure I've ever seen fans complain as much as some Leafs fans about a 22 year old leading the team in scoring for the 3rd year in a row.

Playing "poorly" is on pace for 93 points. Like you said, just imagine when he gets his proper linemates back and hits a hot streak.

You might enjoy creaming yourself because a prospect is playing well in the OHL but Marner is actually doing it in the NHL.

You probably couldn't notice the difference but it's a pretty big one.

I just find you funny.

Clamering about an undersized winger doing well in the NHL..who scored in the OHL.

Then your comment about Robertson.

Come on man, you gotta laugh at yourself every once in while

Your inability to tell the difference between Marner and Robertson actually explains a lot.

In the meanwhile Hintz has 9 goals and 2 assists in 16 games this season. Definitely better than Nylander as I said before this season.
- MaximusAurelius

He’s two points better. How were his numbers in previous seasons?

Your anger towards a fan who’s happy that his teams 2nd round pick has raised his stock explains a lot about yourself.

And what you are all about on here.

He's so hard-boiled!

I decided to start rereading from the beginning, since I'm off work hurt. Just got to Punk Hazard.

It's spelled Robustson.

Seriously, it's great that he's off to a great start but his ability to help the Leafs in the NHL is still a very much suspect.

It’s either talk about Nylander not being Wendell Clark, backup goalie usage, or something positive...

Undersized players have proven to have success in the modern NHL.

He’s doing all he can right now and that’s dominating the OHL at 18. He was a day away from being a 2020 draft pick.

There is reason for excitement, no one is saying he’s a sure fire NHLer. Just showing excitement and rightfully so.

Yeah, must be why of the 704 players to play a game in the NHL this year, there's only 29 who are 5'9".

That's 0.04%.

Wanna know how many there are that are 5'9" and 162?

2.

Tyler Ennis and Paul Byron.

He's got a long, long road ahead of him just to become Trevor Moore.

Isn’t Johnny Gaudreau 5’9?

Edit: Gaudreau and Marchand are both 5’9, according to NHL.com.

If anyone is expecting Robertson to be Gaudreau or Marchand, prepare to be disappointed.

Those are long, long odds.

If he can be a Paul Byron, I’d say it was a good pick. Anything more than that is just gravy(face).

Uhm

What was it 5 years ago?

See a climb?

As the old NHLers leave there will be more smaller players in the NHL.

It is only a recent trend in the NHL, of course the number will be smaller. Simple math.

And lol, he is 18 man he will add weight.

The league is loaded with small players. Teams fudge the numbers all the time.

I’m guessing something really bad happened to you. So instead of arguing with you I choose to just ignore you from now on. I hope things improve for you in the future.

5+ years ago, there were actually more. It's less now than 2013/2014.

Or did you not say that as well?

It will only grow in your own mind.

Any physical sport like hockey will always look for the biggest, strongest athletes. If you find a small, speedy player, the competition will find a player just as fast but bigger and stronger to rub him out of the play. The small players will always be in the vast minority and be supremely lucky / talented to have a spot in the NHL.
