Jesse said they were in the bottom third of every category last season.

Yeah thats what I figured...and if odd man rushes against were tracked I think they'd of been dead last, last season.

It does, but there's also an overall effort that's different. I felt the forwards last year were for lack of a better word, lazy, in making sure once they entered the zone that they didn't keep themselves defensively aware to head off things like odd-man rushes.

One thing I'd really like to see and I don't know if this came from having faster players in the lineup in 15/16 was their ability to keep teams to the perimeter. That not only allowed fewer quality chances on net, but the ability to counterstrike fast.

There's urgency in all three zones. Its awesome.

Agreed. Key word there I think we all saw the last two years.

Pens should look to Trade Rust too AV's. They need depth support bad and have cap space and nobody with much playoff experience.

Not sure what their D look like after Johnson, Makar and Girard though.

The Avs would benefit more from Bjugstad. Their bottom-six center situation isn't very good, but I don't know what they'd have available/willing to trade that the Pens could use, unless Bjugstad would be a cap-dump to make room for a bigger move.

Yohe said that they were dead last in odd man rushes against last year in a bunch of his articles.

Perhaps Zadorov or Cole would be of help in case we traded Rust or Bjugstad?

I don't know much of Zadarov, I think he's mid-bottom pairing but better than JJ.

AVS are still basically a 1 line team and the injuries are killing them.

Big no to Zadorov from me. Cole I'd like though.

Cole doesn't seem popular here. But nobody has seen the Ads play this year since the contract fell apart with Comcast and Direct TV and altitude sports. So every game has been blacked out.
