Also, they played a divisional opponent last night so if Hart is suppose to be the starter and the better of the two goalies, he should have played last night against the divisional opponent.

I've never said the back-up should always play game 1 or always play game 2. It's always been about who the opponent is and/or the quality of competition.

Divisional opponents and quality teams = starter.

Lottery teams and lower quality teams = back-up.
