Elias stated he was disappointed in the reaction from the fans after what he thought was a good performance , but did not blame the fans for the loss or turning the momentum of the game.

Hall said he was disappointed in the reaction of the fans during what he thought was a good performance.
Specifically: “We’re kind of battling our own fans at this point... It’s a tie game and we’re getting booed. That’s a tough environment to play in sometimes, especially when you are at home... If you’re playing at home, you want to feed off the energy of the crowd and not let that affect you, but sometimes it does.”
Where exactly does he blame the fans for the loss or turning the momentum of the game? Because it’s not in what he said.
I can’t believe you are even trying to compare Elias who had a chance to get paid serious dollars during his FA year, but chose to stay with the devils and our fan base even though it is well known he was given much larger offers to go elsewhere including an offer from the rangers.
Elias is a pinnacle leader. Hall is a production leader. Can’t compare the two.

You are the one comparing Hall to Stevens, Niedermayer, Elias and others. I was only trying to point out your inaccuracy around Elias, though apparently his complaining about fans is not objectionable.
They’re not the same situation at all. Elias was homegrown and not nearly as good. He was a tremendous guy to have on the ice (though my recollection is he was always reluctant to wear the C). He also got to have so much success in his early seasons that the late-career desperation wasn’t too bad. He could afford to stay with a team that he was a great fit on.
Hall does not have that sense of loyalty, does not have that early success, and seems pretty desperate for playoff success.
I really just don’t get all the hatred for Hall. I don’t think he seems like a particularly pleasant guy but he was a big part of bringing up Nico in his rookie season and he led by example in singlehandedly pulling the Devils into the playoffs two seasons ago. If he complained during the game, if he tweeted out something about fans, if he actually said fans were to blame for the loss or the shift in momentum, those would be things worth getting upset over. But what he actually said... I think if people weren’t already inclined to dislike him and didn’t already think he was soft or a cancer, those comments would have been nothing.
I think I’m done with this, because it really was not my goal to defend Taylor Hall over several days. If you think he’s a bad guy or has a poopty attitude, I am not challenging that. All I’m trying to say is that Hall’s comments, taken alone, were not offensive or egregious, and if he was already signed to a long term deal, I doubt fans would be talking about how poorly it reflects on him. But that’s just my opinion. Like all of you, I am pretty discouraged by watching this team game after game and maybe I’m just trying to find any possible reason not to feel worse about it.
