From Spector's page yesterday:

"Kevin Fiala could be on shaky ground with the Minnesota Wild. The 23-year-old winger has been a healthy scratch twice this season. His talent and favorable contract should make him a good fit with the Wild but they’re going to see what out there in the trade market.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Fiala had a 23-goal, 48-point performance in 2017-18. If he can’t find his footing with the aging Wild he could regain his form with a younger club.

A slow start by forward Andreas Athanasiou could raise questions about his future with the Detroit Red Wings. He’s in a contract year and his previous negotiations were difficult.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman won’t be as patient as his predecessor. If Athanasiou doesn’t improve soon he could hit the trade block."

I know a lot of people have mentioned AA, but Fiala seems like a new name on the list of possible trade candidates. Could be a good pick up for the right price. I know LW isn't a big need for the team, but I wouldn't be opposed to sending Vesey back in a deal.

I'd rather spend the resources and Cp space on RW though, they are over flowing in LW's:
1-Skinner
2-MoJo (playin C, because they don't have a 2C...doing GREAT though)
3-VO
4-Vesey
5-Sheary (Play RW cause they don't have enough)
6-Girgs
7-ERod (can play there)

RW:
1 - Reino
2- Sobotka ( )
3 - Sheary (a natural LWer)
4 - Okposo (should be retired, but playing well, just not for $6M)

ill say this: of course theres something to being mentally and physically tough especially in the playoffs

if you're going to turn down a massive talent upgrade for the sake of toughness you're a lunatic

okay sure but the leafs took them to 7 games so if they were a little tougher they would have won? im just trying to understand the point

doesn't hurt to be able to beat your opponent's, or at least nuetralize their advantage

there was a database that Sean Tierney had developed about two (2) years ago that rated players attributes...passing, speed, shot, etc...it was a very handy tool, but I can't find it anymore...it did not however include toughness

obviously, these were all subjective rather than based on actual numbers

toffoli had 14 points in 26 playoff games when the kings won the cup

not tough enough for the sabres who havent sniffed the playoffs in 35 years

Olofsson was the rookie of the month.

I still think he needs some time off the top line to get some 5 on 5 scoring.

I heard that 3 points shouldnt let you on the 2nd line so why does 2 points get you on the 1st line

Always wondered what happened to him ..... he got paid and doesn’t care anymore? Drugs?

Toff I remember being up and coming and a great young player. Then fell flat off the end of world.

He started playing like the old team he is on, I would take a shot with him, still only 27, would be a upgrade over Sobotka

Sorry for the length of this post ---

Players I'd include in a trade package, largely because they are pending UFA's, so best to get something for them:
[NOT ALL mind you, AND NOT by 5:00PM today (I.e. Now) - felt that had to be needed for obvious reasons ... some are going to be retained for next season, so NOT suggesting they all need to go)]
-Sheary,
-Scandella
-Bogo
-ERod
-Sobotka
-Girgs
-Larry

Players I like or have hopes for, but would consider including in a trade package for the right player to increase the value of the package
- Vesey (he's ok, Not like I think his play has been anything special)
- Pilut
- Gilmour (depending on who else is in the package, i.e no if Pilut is included)
- McCabe
- Tage

Players I see as primary trade assets for a Top 6 player
- Risto

Players I would have a hard time trading, but would do so for the right guy
- VO
- Montour
- Miller

Players who I hang-up the phone on when mentioned in a trade
- Eichel
- Dahlin
- Skinner
- Reino
- Mitts (this year, next year might be different)
- Joker
- MoJo (he is driving 2nd line productivity with 1 anchor around his waist)

Prospects I wouldn't move unless for a stellar player
- Cozens

Prospects I want to retain, but would consider including if a make-or-break part of the deal
- Asplund
- Borgen
- Samuelsson
- Pekar

Sorry, coudn't resist

9-2-2
6 PP Goals
1st Line LW
Krueger knows everything about everything
+ on the GF-GA ratio
...

Seriously though, I'd give him until January to find his way...he has a history for finding himself in other, lesser leagues and then booming...give him a long leash.
