Something's got to give. He has nowhere to play here in the foreseeable future

Edited for broken quotes. I'm referring to borgen

I'm just thinking, in the short-to-medium term, they have Risto, Miller and Joker on the right. They're already moving Montour to the left, which is still incredibly puzzling to me - but that's a different can of worms. Dahlin, Montour and McCabe on the left.

If they're keeping all of them, I think we can spare Borgen

Hopefully Scandella gets moved in a package for someone.

Risto has been playing well enough and he seems much more happy thus far so I dont see him going anywhere anytime soon unless for a major overpayment.

Scandella was playing well before he got hurt, but by himself, I dont see him getting more than a 3rd or 4th with his contract status. I think it would need to be part of a package

Id find it hard to believe one of them wouldtnt become a cap casualty.
Honestly would McCabe be worth more than 3 MIll? Which he will be asking for more than that.

But like I said I would trade him just not for a bottom 6 forward

Next year, feels like they are 1 move away from Borgen and Pilut competing for the 6th spot. Bit mismatched R vs L, but it's not a bad situation.

I don't think any of those younger players combines the size, skating, defensive play and toughness that Borgen has...

imo, Borgen deserves a long look

"Sparing" Borgen is one thing, and yeah we could probably spare him but he's a player that I'm excited about (maybe over excited) because he brings that toughness that I feel this team is lacking. Also, since he is unproven I doubt very much we would get anything really good for him back at this point, so I'd hold tight.

Would rather see them package Scandella Bogo and Pilot - there you go (fill in the team), three NHL defensemen for your (fill in top six forward)

Paraphrasing Darren Dreger On @TheInstigators: Jason Botterill would like to add a couple of forwards. Ideally both a top 6 and bottom 6 forward.

this organization needs young prospects up front, not pricey rental or short term players

I can’t imagine he would cost too much.

i don't think you are goign to get one team willing to take BOTH Bogo and Scandella and then give you something of value...

i don't see why we can't do a prospect swap D for F with someone.. would come down to Botts scouting ability at that point

most D prospects botts drafted are LD though

trading borgen only works if you have risto, miller, joker and montour in your plans for the next 3 to 4 years

Agreed
Which makes me wonder,
What would Botts value more....
a mid round pick we could get for Scandella,
or the depth he’d provide)

I'm focusing on the short-to-medium. 1-2 years. A lot can change in 3-4

The play, imo, is to move one of the guys you mentioned or create a package with Borgen or Samuelsson or to a lesser extent Pilut.

There are too many guys here for the next couple of years

I'd move Borgen and McCabe for Roslovic though
