Sure it did if the phase that the Flyers were in under Hextall is accurately portrayed. Hextall wanted the team to remain competitive. He did not believe in tanking. In attempting to build a team that has a significant open window to try and compete for multiple Cups, trading Schenn for 2 first round picks made all the sense in the world.

I'm talking about knowing when to rebuild and when to compete. You don't need to tank to rebuild. But trading away a top 6 player for futures isn't how you go for it either.

I just read on another site that Fletcher is looking to trade Morin. Who will take him and what do expect in return???

I think the mistake in your premise is that you can't rebuild and compete at the same time. You can. Dig deeper into it. How should the Flyers have committed more to a rebuild? Trade Giroux, Voracek?
Again, Hextall did not feel they were in the go for it phase at any point of his tenure.

Depends on the team situation. Boston was able to rebuild on the fly other teams take years to draft and develop.

I think as well why others wanted to trade simmer when his value was high to get a return. That’s where most were confused by Ron’s process. Draft and develop but the signed jvr before it was the time to push.

Is also an opinionated question. No wrong answers to how to go about rebuilds. Rangers trade and collected assets. Boston to me is a good example of doing it consistently through trades and developing their own. Recently anyway

My post wasn't about specific teams. Of course every team is in it's own environment with different needs. My post was a statement in general.
Boston's core with the exception of Chara is players that they drafted. They supplement with trades. Which is the right way to do it. I would disagree that there isn't a wrong answer but that is definitely an opinion.
As far as the Flyers, in my opinion, signing JVR was to appease management but that's just speculation on my part.
Jay Greenberg wrote another really good blog on the Flyers. Interesting what he writes about the Flyers moves to add Hayes, Braun and Niskanen. I agree with him.

Just great. Knew summer would score. We'll be lucky if he doesn't score 3.

No but we're half way through the first without a quality scoring chance. I've seen this story before.
