Bill any update or info on Fedotov the goalie playing in Russia? Do the flyers have any hope for him coming over or being an nhl player?
- daryl stanley

i remember before he was a project, but had raw skills and size. if i remember correct ustimenko had much better numbers than he did and believe fed couldn't keep the number 1 spot in the mhl, but easily could be wrong.

Kind of nice seeing the Devils with terrible goal tending...

yeah, will be fun to watch the collapse of the pens when crosby/malkin/letang are finished, the toughness leave the bruins as Chara is close to done, and the moves the cap-strapped leafs will be forced to make due to inflated contracts.
- Peter Richards

let me know when all of this actually happens.

Keys to the game:

- Keep up the pressure, which has been pretty consistent so far this year

Aggressive forecheck (Joelbee is soooo good...Selke one day?) and PK has been a huge bright spot this year.

- STOP with stretch passes and control the forward gaps, it single-handedly killed them against the Pens

- Depth

The depth for the Flyers look great...on paper, unfortunately teams don't win on paper. Actually most teams in the NHL (and past) this season that have great records don't look good on paper. If the Flyers top paid guys don't play well (performance, not just getting production) than depth means nothing.

- Defense

It has been a trainwreck recently and it isn't 100% the defensemen's fault. The forwards, ONCE AGAIN, have to do a better job supporting them and Hart needs to get his groove back. The fans want youth to fill the lineup and here you go...mistakes and growing pains. Even after 2-3 years in the NHL you will still see developing...right Travis Sanheim?

- Focus, focus and more focus

They have had major trouble dealing with pressure teams like the Islanders and Penguins, they need to do a better job winning more puck battles. When the team is playing poorly and making the same mistakes over and over then this is where leadership and the core need to step up. It should never take 2 and a half periods to figure out what is not working, that's insane.

Let's Go Flyers!

Great points!
In the game of inches and milliseconds focus and attention to details make whole a lot of difference.

Flyers should have handed over the 2nd and 3rd round draft picks that Vegas wanted for Gusev and signed him to that 2-year $4.5M contract.

I mean, the guy was really good in Russia, right?

Pitlick went from preseason pick for 3RW to being benched for a player the other 30 NHL GMs wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole in a hurry.

Rubtsov is actually going to have inferior wingers in the NHL than he had on the Phantoms.

thinking about it yesterday, as here and there people are still hating stewart (i get that people want the kids to play) I also look last year at the pitlick trade. Is interesting that dallas was willing to give him up for a player they had no intention of signing.

It's still early in the season, but i have not seen anything from pitlick that twarynski has not been able to bring to the table. (and get he had an injury that set him back, but now he has had a month.) Just a thought. I feel their games will be similar. lso feel Carsen is stronger on his skates but pitlick is slightly faster.

Fletcher traded Simmonds for a guy who is the 14th forward on this team and a pick. Let that sink in

Technically he's the 13th.

And Nashville wish they hadn't even given us Hartman + 4th.

the prior GM should have traded him when he had value don't you think?

But hey blame fletcher because wayne had next to no value. Surely he passed up better deals because he is a bad GM right?

There was Jake Voracek, sitting at his locker at the Skate Zone after the Flyers practiced Thursday afternoon, untying his left skate, and Vigneault stood in the center of the room with his back to him and demanded that Voracek and Claude Giroux deliver a higher caliber of play and leadership. Back-to-back lopsided losses to the Islanders and Penguins had compelled the coach to send his stars a message, and one of them was on hand to hear it. Voracek sat there and listened and laughed.

It is well documented on this board that Stewart is the 13th forward, regardless that he plays every game

Well I'd take it with a grain of salt as soon as I saw who the author of the article was. Mike Sielski. Nuff said.

Simmonds still had value in December last season. Chuckles held on to him thinking the team would actually compete for a playoff spot. One of the first things he should have done was to ship out Simmonds once he decided he was not part of the future.

But damn that Hextall for having no bias for action

On 12/15/18 he had 14 points in 31 games and was -11.

On 2/25/18 when he was traded he had 27 points in 62 games and was -20. So he scored 13 points and went -9 in the next set of 31 games.

But you think he had more value in December than he did in February?

Dont put look into it too much. People have different ways of dealing with things. I know a lot of people who laugh at things that arent funny as a way to get through it. His actions on the ice tonight is what will matter.

Fletcher on why he used LTIR now but not on Patrick.

https://theathletic.com/1...hat-thursdays-moves-mean/

“I don’t mind doing it in some situations,” Fletcher said. “With Scotty Laughton he had surgery, the surgery was successful. It’s typically a four-week process. Doctors said it would be three to four weeks from yesterday, which would put him at 25 days from the date of injury. And LTIR is 24, so that type of injury works well and it gives us some flexibility to maybe have a little more depth.

“If it’s a really defined injury, it’s easier,” Fletcher said. “You just don’t want to get into an (LTIR) situation where it lingers, and you’re not accumulating the cap space you’re going to need later on in the year.”

Of course he did.
Fletcher is a bad man and bad at what he does.
Unlike Hexy who would have traded Simmonds for multiple first round picks.
