First the Hawks announce Dach is here to stay, the next day they recall Boqvist. Will this mark the shift to their youth movement?

You continue to make things up. Neither of those teams have ever been mentioned. If you're as smart as you think you are you'd know that neither of those teams wants aging overpaid players and don'y have the cap space even if they did.
- GPHawksfan

It's obvious we can't stand each other. However I don't go out of my way to comment on your post. This one I felt the need because your claim that I'm making things up is 100% bullpoop. Just So happened that today a article was posted and they mentioned 3 teams the 2 imposter and the other team mentioned would be Seattle in a later move.

Remember when Kaner had to live in Stan's basement in Portage Park while Toews got to live with in Seabrook's bachelor pad in Lincoln Park? No wonder Kaner went wild when was on his own

I'm convinced that stint saved Kane's position on the team a few times. Stan talks very fondly about how he helped around the house and with the kids when Stan was going through cancer treatment. Otherwise, I think 88 might have found himself on the receiving end of the Boston Seguin treatment.

The fact that many educators have to crowdfund basic supplies on donorschoose.org just breaks my heart (daughter of a former educator and thankful recipient of a well-funded district's public school education).

My wife and I bought 144 gross of pencils for a grand, figured since we had the school name and nickname on them we could give our classes pencils when in need and try and get the other staff to buy from us instead of Staples...let's just say, we never were in need of pencils ll the way to retirement age.
Not all teachers CAN do that! The guy with the world's largest golden age comic book collection could....

LOL

do its first then tell me that ANY profession is close- no water cooler time, long periods in situations you cannot leave...because you are liable, and constantly having to pull together discussion, focus and learning, actually ANY to me or to anybody who has done it, doesn't apply.

- wiz1901

I agree with you Bill, I retired in 2016 and put 40 years in some of the roughest neighborhoods in the city of Chicago. I’m not gonna knock one or the next profession but I agree, until you’ve walked in those shoes, nothing to say. Just hope every single person of the working force no matter what they do Gets to enjoy some form of retirement and stay healthy.

Nice to see the organ-I-zation has adopted the "throw 'em in the deep end and see if they swim" development model with their two top prospects... It's worked great for teams like the Sens and Oilers!

ETA: It's worked great with Colliton too!

For what it's worth (probably not one thing), Keith here lately, is coming across as a smug punk. I didn't appreciate his 'instructional league' comments directed at Colliton, even if warranted. Keith should spend more time attempting to get more shots on goal from the point. I no longer give a horse's patoot about what he thinks.

Read on another site that if Boqvist plays more than 9 NHL games this season his "slide" year is nullified and this year would count as the 1st year of his ELC. Anyone know if that is true?
- boilermaker100

Yes, that's true of any player who signed their ELC at 18 or 19. ELC will slide a year (or two if the signing age is 18) as long as they play 9 NHL games or less. Boqvist has already had one year slide.

I NEVER made 80 K when I retired in 2006...maybe in a suburban system like Glendbard were the TAX Base helps increase salarires and any after school coaching or extras are counted towards your pension....doesnt happen in the City.
- wiz1901

Sorry but many experienced teachers in suburban districts are making $125k, it's not just the north shore.

Jets will pick up 4k when we waive him to pair with Dahlstrom. Imagine the log jam if we still had him.

Yo don't have to be sorry to me that there is a disparity in teaching where I lived, the City, and the teacher pay is higher in all high taxed suburbs...the Chicago Teachers who went for Doctorates could make more, but never as much as those other districts...My sister in law's retirement is $108,000 as a former PE/health teacher who coached...so I realize it can be done, but in the City, where it is as difficult as any situation can be you can't ...but you really get benefits from the results long term...my students are still in contact and I really am always surprised by the things so many have said about what I said or did that helps them along their path...worth it.

Just don't like anyone thinking the job is less than it is, or a profession where you are thinking solely about yourself even when You are on strike. (DONE)

Listening to the Locked On Blackhawks podcast and was just reminded that, in addition to Keith's comments about things being far too structured today (under JC as compared to Q), Keith also refused to sign his extension with the Hawks unless they agreed to play him on the PP.

So, THAT's why...

The only reason Gustafsson has a spot on an NHL roster is because he produces offense - if he can't produce offense then he is a detriment to the team. So far, he isn't producing much offense and while I wouldn't hang the PP problem solely on him - his offense struggles on the PP is part of the problem.

Maybe he's pressing because he's in a contract year? The reason doesn't matter - only the results matter and the results have not been good.

Bring in Boqvist and see if he can spark the PP. The Hawks probably have 4-5 more points in the standings right now if they weren't so inept on the PP. The Goals Against is actually pretty good - it's the opposite of last season where we could score pretty well but we couldn't stop the other guys from scoring.

Tyler for mailbag question: say if this continues to south and could be wrong but its not looking good right now. If rocky and mcego decides that its time for fresh eyes and bowman is bump up stairs in some capacity and coliton is also relieve of his coaching duties who in your opinion would be their replacements? Specific names would be nice.
