This guy isn't even on Mark Pysyk's level.

Dont sleep on him

His 49 projected fantasy points puts him at #127 behind Cal Clutterbuck and ahead of Jayce Hawryluk.

That's right, he's ahead of -the- Jayce Hawryluk

You gave examples of a 10-12 game sample.

Pretty much all of them besides Demers have been way bigger scorers than 35-40 points when playing top minutes

- sbroads24

Mmmm you're little using a 10 to 12 game sample for risto.

And still on pace for 35 points (27 even strength) without being on the top PP line. Huge dropoff like many predicted.
- adambuffalo

Exactly.
25 EV points is what he was projected at.

Risto is a RD, Pilut LD. So no, captain obsessive.

I would make a trade that brings a top 9 player here and allows Pilut a spot

- sbroads24

If I recall correctly, Pilut was very good then tailed off considerably and was sent to Rochester where he did fairly well. He had a rough playoff and injured his shoulder in Game-3

What’s funny, as predicted by me, Jake McCabe has been just as good offensively as Ristolainen when given the same minutes
- sbroads24

Didnt you predict risto's points were going to crash?

He seems fine.

That's exactly how I remember it. Pilut looked good, we were all hoping for the new guy to be an. NHL player.

We got our Hope's up, now hes 9th in my pecking order of buffalo defensman.

Maybe tied with gilmore for 8th

I like there game to, but it would benefit Risto to have a few minutes taken away, with the game he plays, he wears down.

His best year scoring in 16-17 he didn't have this many EV points until game 26.

Minnesota is starting off pretty badly. Their top 4 D, Dumba, Spurgeon, Suter and Brodin are -11, -9, -7 and -6 respectively. Wonder if they would be interested in bringing Scandella back?
Rask and Foligno
for
Scandella and Vesey

Rask could play with fellow Swede Mojo adding a big body who can also help with faceoffs.
Foligno brings some much needed toughness and is good defensively.

Being down in Rochester will help him, still has to get used to playing a full season, he seemed to wear down last year.

Needs to work on his defense. His SHL coach had to remind "the player that never saw a rush he didn't like" that he's a defenseman

Risto's game has improved by virtue of playing with McCabe, and of course he has benefited from playing on the 1st place team...you know, all ships float higher in a rising tide.

I mean, if the reason why he sucked for all these years was because he was on piss-poor teams, it follows his fortune this year is only attributed to being on a better team.

Keep building his value so we can maximize the return at the TDl.

assuming you're using google chrome on mobile, top right corner, the 3 little dots, tap that then look for the "desktop site" toggle 3rd from the bottom of the menu and tap it.

I must say that every time I watch Gilmour, the kid is dangerous on the rush, and seems decent defensively. I'd like to see more, alot more.
It is getting to the point where perhaps the Sabres should suit up 8 D and roll 4 pairings

Edit: no particular order...

Yeah, I think that one year (maybe 17-18) risto and he-who-shall-not-be-named took 11 minuses each on empty net goals against

I like pilut, young exciting guy that we didnt have to purposely lose to acquire.

Replacing risto with pilut would provide an even softer team.

Nhl playoffs are a long battle. Something that jack and risto are built for.

Prospects are prospects
Borgen, and Samuelson will be in the mix soon.

Gilmore deserves to be on the big club

Wasn't that all predicated on being dropped off the top PP and getting less minutes? One of those things happened and he's on pace for 34 points, which is a big drop.

Risto hasn't "sucked for all these years"

He had a terrible time under a terrible coach in phail lousley. Sick of losing.

Risto haters gonna have to keep qualifying their posts

Risto had a great game.....but

The one thing about risto that bothers me:

His indecision with the puck in our zone. He seems to choke a bit getting the puck out. I'm not sure if its mental or what? He just cant flip it out of the zone, it's either icing or picked off along the blueline/boards.

As a risto defender- he is fun to watch. Tough and always involved with the other team.
Hard to play against comes to mind

Maybe?

Hard to tell with all the constant trashing.

He is definitely giving way to dahlin on the pp1

Down 20% in scoring. Hardly sbroadkane2's harsh prediction. Small sample size too

That's a pretty big, and important one thing, wouldn't you say? That's part of the reason he plays so many minutes as he creates his own problems.
