Last night we were the #1 team in the league playing a team tied for last, with a losing streak. The rangers came out and played their asses off. With success, you need to ready to face every team’s best effort. Previous years, we were always the team being underestimated which resulted in some wins against superior teams. Throw out the stats, scouting reports, video analysis, etc. because when you are the ‘Better’ team you are always going to play against a much different team than expected, and you need to be ready. They weren’t. Learn and move on starting tonight.

Maybe it's Cozens on the wing next year? I thought he showed very good speed at times in preseason. That might be an area to address at the trade deadline if it looks like a playoff spot is fairly secure. Anything better or faster than sobotka on the right side instantly makes this team better.

Keep in mind - I like Olofsson a ton and think he’s going to be very good.

Right now - why exactly should Olofsson have unlimited time to figure it out while we try and win hockey games?

He’s the second lowest forward on the entire team in 5 on 5 shots despite getting a good amount of ice time

Playoffs would be GREAT, no doubt. I am all for it.

I said going into the season I was and remain of the opinion that I want to see serious growth from the guys who will be here past this season...

Guys to include here are,
-Eichel, Reinhart, Olofsson, Skinner, Johansson, Mitts, Dahlin, Joker, Miller, Montour, Borgen, McCabe, Pilut, Ullmark, Tage (for now)

Guys excluded are
-Scandella, Bogo, Risto, Sobotka, Sheary (maybe the retain him at a pay cut), Vesey (so far, but there is time for him to turn it around).

Sure, I want this team to do as well as they can, no holds barred.
But in this year, now finally the Year of Transition it is critical to get the mainstays to take another big step towards long-term contender status.

Kids got what 16 games in the NHL? Id say hes a rookie with a good shot and instinct enough to learn to play faster

If he needs a different look i wouldnt argue it, just try and find someone other than skinner to play with eichel
