He will learn.

Personal observations from last night:

Defense are playing slower with the puck in the defensive zone. First few games, they made a couple quick passes and were back out of the zone. Now they a facing a tougher forecheck and appear to be trying to make the perfect exit, making several more passes, slow and methodical almost like you would start from your end on the PP.

Dahlin spent more time on the ice trying to block passes last night, unsuccessfully I might add, then I've seen at any time in his career.

Forecheck seemed unenthusiastic except for Larsson line.

Whatever happened to "take away the pass" on the 2 on 1 and leave the shooter to the goalie.

Wingers were losing the Dman in the defensive zone way too much. Subotka went for a nice little neutral zone coast on goal 4 or 5 before realizing that was his man that was pinching down, wide open.

Loved the attacking mentality we had first few games but its more just in bursts now.

This is the only trend I see that's concerning. Reinhart in particular had several opportunities to skate the puck in last night, and instead went for the conservative play of dumping it and halfheartedly chasing it. The team overall has reverted in the past two games to giving the puck back instead of maintaining possession. The D (other than Joker) seem quite content to just chip it out and make the safe play, which just ends up back in your zone 8 seconds later. I hope Krueger really is able to get them back to supporting each other and maintaining possession with crisp passing, as opposed to chipping, dumping, chasing, etc.

In fairness to Reinhart, maybe he just wasn't feeling it last night, so went for the safe play rather than the brutal turnover. Either way, he looks a lot less decisive the last 3 games.

All correct plus Dahlin looks weak on the puck if he can't slip away with speed and agility. That can be corrected.
We had some shooting opportunities and passed them up. First few games we shot a lot and that has slowed.

He is tied for fifth in the league in scoring. He was on pace for more than 120 points this season before last game.

Honestly I am not trying to continually come after what you say. It’s just that you are so blatantly wrong so often.

Sam has gotten faster this year, I’d say he’s a slightly above average skater. Skinner is really our only other forward that could remotely play at Eichel’s pace.

Good post

I think you see skinner- eichel tonight

It was proven that he was actually correct and the pile on guy was, shall we say misinformed.
Eichel has had several games of subpar performance and it has effected that whole line...as noted by Michael on the road.
Good test to ight for him to bounce back strong...he has had several of those games as well being in beast mode.

Simply said, the Top Line needs to pick it up at 5v5...not just ECHL.

I'm excited to see Mantha tonight.
Let's hope Risto has an absolute killer game tonight

Puzzling to me why they called Borgen up who is a RhD when Scandella, a LhD is injured and they have his replacement up already. I get what Michael posted, but they could mix up the pairings and not have Gilmour slide into Scandy spot with the Joker.

Speaking of.

He has one assist in his last 7 games and doesn’t have a goal with the goalie in the net this year.

His offense has returned to very, very average

I agree with this. Both Olofsson and Sam can’t keep up.
- Swedish_Jesus

Maybe it's Cozens on the wing next year? I thought he showed very good speed at times in preseason. That might be an area to address at the trade deadline if it looks like a playoff spot is fairly secure. Anything better or faster than sobotka on the right side instantly makes this team better.

No, but he has had three seasons over 60 points, and his goals last year was 28, which he had once before.

I think 77 is in line with a career year. 26-28 is the prime age for a lot of players. He's very likely to come back down to a 60-65 point player this year.

How about:

Skinner Eichel Sheary
Oloffson MoJo Reinhart
Sobotka Mittelstadt Vesey
GLO Line

Put the three fastest guys together.

- matty12345

This makes perfect sense. I could see these lines being successful. If we hadn't had the success we have they might be a reality. Just swap Sobo and Vesey to the wings they've been playing so far.

1st part is confusing,

Ror did indeed win trophies for individual play and the stanley cup.

Couldn't have possibly proven sbroadkane more wrong

I think VO may need a game or two in the PB.

He has been lackluster except for standing in the slot on teh PP.

Yep - you're that guy. Let's bench the rookie scoring leader. And I don't car where his points come from. He carries the puck into the O zone more than Reinhart does.
