So he fixed his game in like 10 games.
Impressive!!!

Tage has quite a bit to learn, and he needs his mind to grow into his body.
He tries to play the game like he is 5'10" and 175 rather than 6'7" 220.
Learn to be a Bully, play like a big power forward...not like bambi.

Please, give me a break about your strength of competition argument. You aren’t even fairly representing the biased article you are referencing. It never said it was negligible. It said that line mates were a larger factor. Secondly it never said it was a consensus, it said that “most” which is a bullcrap way of saying, I have no statistic for how many but I want to prove my point so I’ll say most.

Again, all your advanced stats aren’t nuanced enough to tell the whole story. You act like they do. And that’s why we will never agree. Because there’s more to the story than those statistics indicate. Were some of the goals soft goals that the goalie should have saved? Were the scoring chances high quality? Was it a result of a mistake he made or the opponents making a great play. You already acknowledge he plays more than all the other defenseman, you acknowledge that he gets the highest percent of dzone starts. You acknowledge he gets the most PK time and plays against better competition. Why wouldn’t he have more scoring chances and goals against if all those things are true?

I was utterly and pleasantly surprised after reading this and looking to see who wrote it.

This is logical, well written, expressed with a focus on your main idea, and reinforced with numerous prime examples.

I see more suggestions to improve the roster than complaining.

There are a few who go on and on about certain players...as an example, there are several who discuss Risto back and forth on both sides of the equation...those for him, and those against him.

What's crazy to me is that since the team is 8-1-1 it means to several that nothing should be done, or that suggesting improvement changes means the Sabres suck or the coaching staff are idiots ...yet or Ralph's own words and a common belief in many things is continuous improvement is required, not standing still or being complacent.

But I enjoy the bantar back and forth, and when it all comes down to it we all want the same thing...go Sabres!!!

I disagree.
Montour, at the very least is a bit better defensively...still not good, but a bit better.
At Transition is the biggest difference, and it isn't close by any stretch by the disillusioned...Risto absolutely sucks at it. He has a low Hockey IQ and panics rather than making the smart play to exit the Dzone.
Offensively equal.
Risto is move physical, gets fans excited with hits CD every 10 games or so.

I agree with this but we would really be small on D and teams would target it, now if Borgen was ready or Bogo was healthy, Miller can handle himself, Scandy too, McCabe plays with grit and wears a letter but he takes such a pounding I don't see him putting in 70-82gms a yr, more like his usual 30-50gms but I hope he can stay healthy, he is gritty and we need as much grit as we can get.

We certainly have the skating, puck possession creativity thing down pat.

Now that we have a Coach I can actually see "our" plan, or style , whether we're struggling at it, or the other team has thwarted it, we then transition as we did on the PP when Krugs had them throw the puck below the dot, find Skinner in middle of Sq, etc,, we did that obviously as teams were loading up for our Rookie Cannon boy, who some want to Bang on , When Garth actually has us surprised at something he wrote, it has to be newsworthy, but I digress.

Point being, that our method of play is clear to me the viewer, I've now seen adjustments , so now we are two pronged on the PP, our PK is creative and Solid. Krugs is truly placing individual players and lines out at specific times, often dictating the play of the game. The other coaches are not liking his willingness to go against NHL dogma.

Time to grab some kindling.

I haven't seen a single person bash the Pegula's since game 1 of the NFL season.

People were more than ready to bash the (frank) out of them at every turn for poopty teams.

Are folks ready to praise them for good teams? Or are people going to pull the double standard card, it's only the banshee's fault when we suck but they have nothing to do with us being good.

I’m in the camp that feels there’s no NEED to make a change at this exact moment. That’s not to say that there aren’t areas that could improve. I’d love to see someone with more offensive accumen in Sobotka’s spot. However, that person needs to be able to help on face offs like he currently is and be willing to do the dirty work he currently does. While he may not be showing up on the scoresheet, it doesn’t mean he’s not contributing to the success of that line.

I don’t think making changes for the sake of making changes is the right avenue. There is a happy medium. If they can improve the roster somehow, then go for it. Don’t do something just for the sake of doing something though.
