Maybe not. I just think the sabres for years have never clearly looked better than anyone. Even when they win, you're never really sure they deserved it. NJ and Dallas just looked like they didn't belong on the ice with the Sabres this year, and I kind of want to see that against the next two teams as well.

I may have worded it too strongly though. It's not imperative that we crush them. It just would help me personally get off the fence.

It's a shame we're doing so well considering how much high-end talent is in the 2020 draft

It's also going to be a lot easier to tell what our biggest holes are in 20-30 games from now. Maybe Ullmark goes up in smoke and we actually need a goalie. Maybe TT comes up and excels and replacing sobotka isn't an issue at all. Maybe Vesey has a disaster year and we really need a third line scorer. Maybe someone gets injured at a position we aren't even thinking of.

Why spend your assets before even 20 games have been played? Also, even the bad teams aren't in a selling mode in October. Prices have got to be high now.

It’s like some ppl forgot that watching sports is supposed to be fun
And sure, i understand how years of disappointments can affect that

Maybe this won’t last
But I’m gonna enjoy the heck out of it while i can

I’ve been to 4 games already this year
That’s about what I’ve been to the last 3 years combined

I get what you're saying here because the Sabres teams of the past have had a tendency to look bad against the teams that even worse than them when you least expect it. And that's not just over the last couple years, it's happened for what feels like eternity.

Even in those first two years out of the full season lockout, they managed to look poor against teams like Florida.

IF they can come out and play a solid game each of the next two nights it would be another nice step in the right direction, that's for sure.

I dunno, Pittsburgh just didn't show up that game. I've watched them a couple times since and they look great.

I'm not saying the sabres aren't better, but if the only penguins hockey you watched this year was that game, they're a very different team than you are expecting.

Except Pittsburgh now isn’t the Pittsburgh of the past anymore

And it was only 1 game

We’ve beaten many good teams in the past,
even when we were a terrible team

We’ve shown quite a bit of improvement so far this year
But the back to back games vs Tampa will tell us more than a 2 game stretch vs NYR & the Wings

But even then...
it’s a small sample size like I’ve been saying
We could lose those 2 games in Sweden & still make the playoffs
And we could win both & still miss

Ppl are overdisecting a lot on here

I’m just enjoying the season so far & going along for the ride
