Sure it would
But “that’s not all” you were saying

So yeah, it would be nice
But it won’t “prove” anything

You have this annoying habit of ignoring the majority of a post that you can't answer, and shifting the discussion to the one sentence in a post that isnt perfectly worded.

You say Washington outshot the rangers by 5. But then you never respond to the fact it was actually six and the corsi was 15 or whatever, and the score was 5-2. And then you also ignore the six other games I posted the shots too, which shows the rangers get outshot every night.

Instead, you switch to making a point about sample size, but then when I point out you were telling us all how good this team was after 2-3 games, you don't answer that and just switch to making another point, where you try to find some variance in how strongly I worded my point over two posts.

Sort of like the other day when you posted that the sabres were 7th best in CF% (they're 25th), and then when I asked where you got that stat from you never responded.

To stick to one point. A corsi difference of 15 is big, and it's exactly like what I want to see from the sabres tonight.

Good point,

I'd say vesey, but he played for the rangers.

On pace for 0 goals this year

Personally I think anyone could do as good up there. In time he should be on the top but not yet. Most the of time on 5v5 hes not on the off wing anyways.

at some point i think we need to do a prospect swap with one of our D prospects to get wing depth

he is literally our only nhl prospect ready this season that plays the wing
- homiedclown

I think you’re forgetting about Remi Elie 😂😂😂

For real though...
Cj Smith?
Asplund played the wing in preseason for us

Not sure he's the one I'd want to move. Just because he's a defensive defenseman if that makes sense. We don't have anyone else like him at the moment. But, I also don't know who I would move instead, so I'll just shut up now.

I think the ship may have sailed on CJ Smith. They sent him back pretty much as soon as they could, so clearly there's something about him they don't like at this point.

Most centers can play wing too, but technically Asplund is a center, no a winger.

Perhaps in this case, they bring Asplund in as the 3C, move Mitts to 2C and shift Johansson to wing.

You don’t know what you’re talking about
I never once posted about the Sabres Corsi
In fact...
many on here can tell you how i don’t like that stat

I also never said the Sabres were good after 2-3 games
I actually don’t even know that NOW

But i do know we are playing good so far
And I’ve repeatedly said ppl could/should enjoy it instead of constantly trying to poke holes & be negative

And what i also KNOW...
is that outshooting 2 crappy team by a wide margin is not just a ridiculously small sample size
It’s also NOT A PREDICTOR
of how we’ll play moving forward
Especially not against good teams

Outshooting the Rangers & Wings will not prove we are on the level of the Caps, Tampa, Boston, etc

YOU said it would PROVE we’ve moved up a class
I don’t think it necessarily proves anything 1 way or the other

We also have a bunch of defensemen could possibly be traded for a winger

In the context of Homie’s post,
I’m not making Tage untouchable by any means
Maybe he’s just a good AHLer that won’t translate up here
We’ve seen that in the past
Happens often actually

Heck maybe the “right trade” i talked about moving Tage in brings us back a winger?!?!

i agree with that him and samuelson should probably not be moved. What can Laksoneen or Byrson maybe

There's a lot of different ways they could go about doing it. While there are definitely improvements that could/should be made at some point, I'd rather they not make a move just for the sake of making a move right now either.

I had 5 reasons to pick him

risto
joker
miller
montour
botts didn't draft him

Laaksonen would probably be reason 6

damn Botts drafted a lot of LD

Dahlin, Johnson, Samuelsson, Cronholm, Bryson, Kreu

I have no doubt that Botts could’ve made moves by now if he wanted to
But it seems like he just didn’t get the deal(s) he wanted

I personally like that he’s taking his time with it

This team is not a finished product by any means imo
I’m 100% sure he feels the same way

I shot my big mouth off so I went back and checked. You are 100% right, it wasn't you who posted the wrong corsi stat, it was someone else.

Dude. Sorry. I messed that up completely.

Meh, some people saw past the pirouette gif and said he would be a successful player anyways 🤷🏻‍♂️

I get your overall point
It’s that u aren’t convinced we are good yet

But i just don’t see how beating up on the rangers or wings will prove we are ready to tangle with the Caps or Tampa yet

I just don’t see the correlation
Especially in the extremely small sample size of 2 games

It's also going to be a lot easier to tell what our biggest holes are in 20-30 games from now. Maybe Ullmark goes up in smoke and we actually need a goalie. Maybe TT comes up and excels and replacing sobotka isn't an issue at all. Maybe Vesey has a disaster year and we really need a third line scorer. Maybe someone gets injured at a position we aren't even thinking of.

Why spend your assets before even 20 games have been played? Also, even the bad teams aren't in a selling mode in October. Prices have got to be high now.

Not sure this is "being dumb" especially after reading the last few days of posting.

Vesey is not playing as well as last season.
