Thanks. Your insight is always appreciated. Put on you GM hat. Who would you call up? Who would be your 3rd pair Gus, K4, someone from the Rock. What side would they play?

Sorry, I realized that I didn't answer the second part of your question. Now knowing that Gilbert is recalled to replace Murphy, I would pair Gustafsson with either Koekkoek or Gilbert whichever of the two starts. Play Gustafsson at RD and the other at LD.

I guess Gustafsson could be the one to sit. In the slim chance that is the case, have Koekkoek play RD and Gilbert at LD.

Gilbert should play, IMO. Whether it was him or say Carlsson, it wouldn't be good for them to be recalled just to be the healthy scratch. Not fair either for Koekkoek to continue sitting to see a rookie in the lineup ahead of him.

In that case, I actually wouldn't have minded Holm being the one to recall and being the scratch. Let Gilbert and Carlsson play big minutes in Rockford rather than be a backup policy as the 7th D-man.

Story on the Score app and Elliot Friedman on his 31 thoughts say the Sens are desperate for a forward. Offer them Zack Smith back or Perlini for a pick? Hawks have a couple spares

Tyler fantastic wrap up of the game. You nailed every point .

Lehner when called upon to play has been the better goalie in net, the 2 losses in ot with him isn't his fault, however he has given the team every chance to win and earned points.

I noticed Gilbert is getting the call up is he a RD or LD or switch ?

Just curious if you heard any trade chatter ?

I think they meant a forward that doesn't cost $3.5M to play on the bottom six.

Blackhawk fans, not classy at all

https://www.sportsnet.ca/...entioning-bears-trubisky/

During a break in the action, a young Blackhawks fan was interviewed on the United Center’s scoreboard. When asked what they were planning on dressing up as for Halloween, the kid answered Chicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

The response, which occurred just two days after a Bears team that had high hopes heading into the 2019 season fell to 3-3 with a tough loss to the New Orleans Saints, was immediately and predictably met with a chorus of boos.

The prep is the worst part of it - unless you dig sitting on a toilet with your iPad - in that case it rocks.

Did they tell you the prep was going to be super tasty too and that you'd beg for more after consuming a gallon of it?

I’m ready to see something different on the bottom pairing - Gus’ only real value is on the PP and he’s not doing much there - so let him sit and watch the game from the press box. But I doubt JC would do that to his favorite lap cat.

Edit: Grit, tomorrow when you read this and get all discombobulated - just remember I don’t care how much you like Gus. He’s nowhere near as good as you make him out to be.

Oh, I know. It tastes like a cat pissed in Gatorade.

Edit: Not that I’d know what that would taste like - I’m just assuming based off of peripheral experiences.

Wow....hair triggered...

Since you asked, and you may want to read this from your "safe room", I am flattered that you look to me to balance the scales of right and wrong, but I have always looked at my time here as an escape from reality, when time allows. I am not much for score keeping....as it has zero affect on the outcome of anything real.

News flash...everyone here is full of poop. But it is OK. Its supposed to be fun. I like it when it is challenging. I actually work on my writing and reasoning skills. And sure, I get a little annoyed with coming here and finding the same dippoop comments day after day. Its not the comments, but the reflexive obsession to shift focus and blame to some focal point, that seems to serve as a comfort blanket to those either too lazy or incapable of come up with an original thought. (Keep beating that HORSE!!!)

Some act like Uncle Rico or Al Bundy just unable to face the fact that the calendar has turned over many times and some really cool things are in the rear view mirror. I am in this moment, grateful for the past and looking forward to the future. I also realize that my participation as a fan had zero affect on the team winning 3 cups....(as tough as that is to swallow for me)

16 teams make the NHL Playoffs and doing so is no small accomplishment in the most competitive league in sports history. For some fans, I know making the playoffs is not enough, as they have developed a higher expectation and taste for the finer things. But make no mistake about it, while we all wish in some way it was otherwise, nothing said or done or posited by anyone, including myself, has ANY (ZERO) affect on the outcome of any game or season. I accept that, and in doing so, enjoy the board for what it is: ENTERTAINMENT

That is probably a little longer of a dissertation than I even planned....

I ll take stab at possible line combos:

Caggulia towes kubalik
Dcat strome shaw
Saad dach kane
Kampf/perlini carpenter nylander
If hawks are going trade perlini then start playing him. I say it again hawks shoulda traded gust at the draft. Its all hindsight now but we'll see if he can get that mojo back that he had last year, but is so awful at defense and he not suddenly going to get better he is 28 if has not figure it out by now he will never will.

At least the $6 + mil conversations for Gus have stopped. Like the Sharp trade a few years ago, Stan may have held his hand too long.

On a side note, the Jets claimed Sbisa off waivers today. Just thinking of teams that might be desperate for a d man

We simply can not afford to trade Gus right now. Unless we know for 100% certain that Boqvist is NHL ready to make up for his offense, man the top PP unit, and improve on Gustafssons defense(if not then what’s the point anyways?). I highly doubt he is.

Without Gus we would have zero offense from the blue line. ZERO. And if Gus can be sheltered on the 3rd pair as a PP specialist with a cheap contract I really don’t see why there’s such desperation to trade him...

You've got zero from the blue line WITH Gus so far.

Yeah, I must have missed all the PP production he was generating.

I’m ready for a change on the bottom pairing. Someone who can play replacement-level defense would be refreshing.

You are reading Stanbo's mind, he spotted a Dman that Q hated - Ian McCoshen is on the way.

Well, let’s see if he’s even replacement-level quality. He had a nice college career at BC but his pro career hasn’t really amounted to much. Hopefully Stan and the front office team have some analytics indicating he can be serviceable. At the very least he should help the Hogs - the AHL plays a physical game.

I doubt its that complicated - Stan saw his name as the 1st player taken in the 2nd round in 2013 and jumped at it like he did with early picks like KK, Strome, Perlini, Nylander. If McCoshen has anything he probably will get a chance unless KK and Gilbert outperform what is expected of them.

I see KK getting moved to a team that needs D.

I could see Ottawa being a fit for Perlini, the return would be minimal at best. Maybe Stan could replenish their 7th round pick in 2020.
