Colliton: "It's ultimately how bad you want to win. ... The players we have are good enough." Says if they play the right way, they'll make the playoffs.

not sure about that...they have played well in 3 or 4 other games only to lose in regulation or ot/so

Wow JC saying they need to work harder on defense, if everyone had the work ethic any line combination would work.

We tried to pass the puck in the net tonight

Basically telling his top 6 do you want to win, questioning their worth ethic

Wouldn't mind seeing Smith and Perlini in there for next game. Probably time to go full blue collar and end the optional practices.

Let some of the "high skill guys" marinate in the press box for a bit and figure out how to pass.

- TheCore

But if we bench the high skill guys we won't be able to score. Wait, what?

hey hey...there were three...

let me quess: kampf, carpenter and KK...

- bogiedoc

Saad, Dach and Nylander. Special K's play will fall once he plays more. Carpenter and Kampf escape stinking like ass I guess. They were okay-ish.

Gus and Special K together is an adventure, though. There were a couple of time tonight they both decided to pinch but got lucky the Flyers couldn't get control of the puck cleanly.

I thought 4K had a good game tonight. Hope to see Gilbert play Saturday and have Gus sit one out. The PP and overall D won't be any worse without him.

Again, even though I can be very opinionated and at times strident, the fact is I am NOT going to go full scale ledge jumping until game 20.

I think there is still hope, this is growth time. The team has to look in the mirror and challenge themselves.

Maybe getting on the road will allow them to come together. Saturday should be interesting.

and your lehner post game quote for the night...

Mark Lazerus
@MarkLazerus
Robin Lehner called it "an honest, well-deserved result."

"It's just managing the puck. It's not that complicated.'

- bogiedoc

Lehner post-game interviews might end up being the best part of the season.

Piss poor game tonight . Starting to look behind the bench for some direction .Lines look like a hot mess . Mr. Crawford still around
- oldduffman

JC's post-game was something

He said it's not the lines - that he could throw any players together and as long as they have the right level of work ethic, battling for puck possession, etc., it will work. That [paraphrasing] the lines that are not working are not showing a commitment to the game he is asking them to play. Basically, he and Lehner both threw the team under the bus tonight for not playing the way they can/should.

I disagree on the lines comments. There is something to chemistry, like it or not. We saw it at the end of the game. As the panel said, when Patrick Kane gets only 3 SOG, something isn't working.

Another concern - you try and make Kane or even DBC a power/grinding forward, you take them away from what makes them so special and successful. Not sure he was saying that, but that's the message I was getting from him.

I take that to mean JC doesn't have an idea of how line combinations work.

I think he's trying to get them to play 200 feet of hockey, that's all and pressuring the puck, honestly they've had much better coverage in the dzone the last 4 games, everyone can challenge a puck handler it just takes effort

I think he is discounting the chemistry element. But I don't disagree with his general premise that if the people on the line all work hard, they'll have more success.

Some of JC's comments for your perusal. Question now is how the team is going to respond to this kind of lashing. I suspect with some of the vets, not so well.
