I still think they are playing good defense, sure Shaw could of gotten puck out and Toews instead of lifting his stick came over the top and made sure his stick stayed on the ice to deflect the shot. The 2 on 1, apparently deHaan doesn't know how to defend it either

Toews back to 2017 form again. Doesn't do much of anything offensively. Very sad. I'd rather give Dach a chance on PP1.

I don't deny Toews is playing poorly, but that trainwreck in the 2nd period went WAY beyond 1 player.

Of the games I've seen this one is definitely tough to watch. Maybe they can pull a rabbit out of their back side in the final period but it will likely take more than the 6 shots on goal they've put up through 2.

(To save some of you from looking it up, a bathysphere is one of those deep sea exploration capsules.)

Whatever the new PP strategy is it’s horrible. Just getting boxed in on half the ice.

What does Toews provide on the PP? He can’t shoot and he’s not in front of the net... his passing and stick handling are brutal right now. Also not sure why Nylander is out there. It should be Kubalik.

We continue to see JC force Dcat to carry the puck too. He’s a goal scorer. Idk why he’s being used as a playmaker. Strome and Dcat worked last year. Not sure why they aren’t paired together.

Add Toews as a sweetener in the Perlini trade. Columbus has a ton of cap room. I watched the CBJ/CAR game and I'd take any one of those guys from their top six for Toews.

It's not all on Toews but he is the captain and the supposed leader on this team and his play has been terrible. The message would be that even the captain gets benched when he sucks as bad as had through the first 8 games. Hopefully it embarrasses to the point that it gets him to play better and can actually return to leading this team by his play on the ice.

Strome terrible, Shaw not good, and Toews again just totally useless.

I like the idea of benching Toews as well. Lite a fire. Get your head out of your a$$ and start playing like a 10million dollar player.

Not a good night so far, but this team is better than 2018 team. Change up the top six and win this period, maybe win game. Go Hawks!

The truth is they're very good at killing penalties ... unfortunately it's their PP they kill.

i gotta stop having high expectations...really thought this team would kick ass tonight...
